Saturday adventures!!! Went to Shirlington and explored the water (but mostly the banks) and then had to get a bath so now we have a very tired pup on our hands!

Coach Jen, our fearless morning leader, celebrates her 46th trip around the sun today.

🎉🎂🎈🎁

Celebrate with her by getting up at 0 dark 28 (she likes multiples of 7), drink some kombucha (or a white Monster or whiskey), pet a dog, spend some time outside, and take a nap.

Here's to many more great years! 🥃

Day 30 of #squatober - PR Day!
Plenty of time to warm up and before the weights got heavy.
.
1 @ 100% - 133# (my training 1RM)
1 @ 102% - 135#
1 @ 104% - 138#
1 @ 145# (140# was previous PR)
1 @ 150# - and I'm done
.
I loosely followed this program last year with a guessed max of 90#. In Dec '19 I tested it at a gym (vs at home where I didn't have a rack and had to clean the bar from the floor) and hit 100#.
.
I followed the 2018 Squatober plan this past August and PR'd at 140#. I started having sacrum pain last week and wasn't feeling like I'd even hit my Aug PR. Adding 10# in 2 months after starting lifting from scratch 1yr ago, and more consistently since March, makes me really happy. 💪
.
Props to my sister, @jendoesstuff for not only coming to spot me but also giving/loaning me almost all of the bumper plates, BB, and lifting shoes to amp up my training. 🙌

Winding down with Day 29 of 2018 #squatober with finding a new PR. I did this in 2019 not following it consistently in October, and finished in early December hitting 100# for my max. I hadn't lifted heavy or consistently for 10+ years so I was pretty happy.
.
Today I called for some backup with @jendoesstuff to help spot me just to be safe, and I ended up hitting 140# and got some celebratory butt slaps.
🏋️‍♀️
1) 125#
2) 128#
3) 133# (132# was the max weight I was going off of since 10 days prior)
4) 136.5# (bad at math, but hooray for change plates)
5) 140# - with an audible 'uuuuuuhh' because I wasn't sure if I'd stand without losing my form.
6) the workout and my chicken scratch. All the weights/reps I did to warm up so it wouldn't feel as heavy as 118# felt last week and I got comfortable with the depth.
.
I plan on following @sorinex_squatober to do this again in October and hopefully increase my PR some more.
