You don’t have to get better before you let someone get close. Your honesty might be someone else’s way out of hiding.

I get it — You're hesitant to reach out, because you don’t want to be a burden. But sometimes the answer waiting on the other side of your honesty is: “Oh. You too?”

And suddenly, two people can stop pretending and really be seen and more deeply known.

Maybe it all starts here, with just one person you can trust, and this one line: “Hey, do you have space to hear a bit of how I’m actually doing?”

Sometimes the first way we carry each other — is by admitting what’s heavy.

If you need some real soul-encouragement, don’t miss this conversation with my dear friend Toni Nieuwhof, who gathered a group of authors together to share honest stories of faith in a new book called Honest to God.

Comment HONEST and I’ll share my full conversation with Toni, along with a story from Faith Eury Cho — a tender reminder that sometimes the miracle isn’t the answer we were hoping for, but the presence of God with us right there in the dark.

Come read this beautiful excerpt from "Honest to God" today, a brand new book, which is like imagining you’re huddled around a campfire, with friends like Mark Batterson, Jennie Lusko, Rebekah Lyons, Faith Eury Cho, myself and so many other amazing friends, us all telling stories of our dark seasons, tough questions and shattered plans — and what we all did to hold onto faith and testify to the God who never left.

Comment HONEST and join us!

This Hey! It’s the Luskos episode with @sissygoff about childhood grief took an extraordinarily heavy topic and made it light with hope. We talked about the differences between mourning and grieving, the researched sixth stage of grief, at what age children can comprehend the finality of death, and encouraged parents to trust their own Holy Spirit led intuition on what their children truly need when walking through the hardest of seasons. This is one to send over to any parent you know that’s helping their kids navigate grief.

“Cut robes, not throats” 💀🤣 Who’s buying the merch?!

@jennielusko and I got to sit down this week with @lukelezon to hear more of his story, how he and his wife met, what’s shaped him, and how he found himself leading a church at such a young age. We also came away with a new t-shirt slogan. 🤷🏽 Checkout today’s new episode wherever you listen to your podcasts!
