✨️AWARD WINNING✨️ ‘ELEMENTS’ WON BEST VIDEO ART AT THE DRESS CODE FILM FESTIVAL 2026. Now you can view/ share on Douglas Street Campus YouTube!

A Douglas Street Campus Collaboration we are so proud of!

Textile artist Jenny Monks and composer/film artist David Ian Bickley have collaborated to create a captivating short film. This project digitally maps AR elemental film images onto student textile creations, seamlessly transitioning fashion from the sewing room to the digital realm.

The theme, ELEMENTS, inspired the staff and students of Douglas St Campus in Cork, Ireland, to unite their creative talents. They produced a film artwork featuring intriguing headpieces designed and crafted by students. Drawing inspiration from iconic designers like Alexander McQueen, Coco Chanel, Iris Van Herpen, and John Galliano, the students skilfully manipulated reclaimed materials, transforming raw elements into wearable sculptural accessories. All of this was achieved under the creative direction of Jenny Monks.

Gorgeous invitation from @douglasstreetcampus

YOU ARE ALL INVITED> PATCHWORK DREAMS, A Community Blanket will be on show as part of this.
The annual Douglas Street Campus End-of-Year Exhibition opening takes place onFriday, May 22nd, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
This year’s title, “And & and” was chosen to convey the abundant, varied and eclectic nature of the creative courses on offer in the college.
Creativity pushes past the limits of an “either/or” mindset. Instead of choosing one thing at the expense of another, it opens the door to multiple possibilities, allowing ideas to coexist, combine, and continually evolve.
So, you can have one thing, and another, and yet another, even if they appear incompatible at first glance.
The exhibition showcases what is possible when individual voices and shared artistic spaces are combined, and what can be achieved when creative thinking and practical skills are aligned.

The exhibition is also open to the public on May 25th, May 26th and May 27th from 10am to 4pm.
