Love these things. I know they can be polarising, but the sound, the looks are just so beautiful. No XII, no Stairway, just saying 😉

Posted @withregram • @jensenbell 1965 Fender Electric XII. The best intonation for a twelve in the mid 60s. People who performed with Rickenbacker and Gibson 12s, RECORDED with these. It looked like they were going to be extremely popular, but they really only sold to a select group between 1965 and 1969. One more example of how we need innovation and “ selling like hotcakes” to be separate categories. Some people reading this, some people we follow who make guitars every day, they innovate and they make everything better for all of us. They are not doing it to become kajillionaires, they do it to make a great tool for committed players like you! 💪🫀. I’ve been posting on this account for eight or nine years. At the beginning I took pictures of my food like everybody. But I never get over the innovation of music instrument makers. I never get past marveling at what Fender was able to create between 1950 and 1970. I’m always so excited to see what my friends and colleagues are creating from their small business on Instagram as well. It’s really fun, right? We are having a really good time with this stuff!! Kind of the secret of life if you ask me. Photo: Guitar com @guitar

2008 GIBSON LES PAUL LP295 - 005680310 - 0049
I did not build this guitar but I did make it my own. Gibson did not do a good job on these to honor the ES295 model. They just stuck a Bigsby on it. I don't like any ES295 with Bigsby on them either. They MUST have this AUTHENTIC and PROPER trapeze bridge on them. The bridge is what makes this guitar what it is, as well as the ES295, which inspired it. Gibson took a superficial and easy way out by just putting a Bigsby on it. Very lame. I took all that off and sourced the original bridge and made it right. Much modification had to be made to the bridge to make it fit correctly and it turned out perfect. This thing plays as well as a Zachary guitar does. This is what Gibson should have done in the first place and had they done it right I am sure you would be willing to pay over $10K for it easily, especially if they called it a "Murphy Lab". Marketing BS. "Murphy Lab" should not even exist, that should be the standard Gibson line, as in the 50s. No "Custom Shop" needed.
Many more pics on my website under Restomods.
I would leave a link but I don't think the Aliens allow links.

As per @jensenbell post yesterday of the Smurftastic original 1956 Gretsch White Penguin, I decided to post a couple pictures of my fortunate interaction with the beast a few years ago.
I've been friends with @abalonevintage for 20+ years, was traveling through South Carolina and made arrangements to drop by and see Eric.
And I got to see this!
Buy it, if you have the $$!
I highly recommend Eric / Abalone Vintage for all yer vintage needs!
