Summer!! This summer was full of love, celebration, and grief. I’m so thankful for all the people in my life and all the time I got to spend on the river. I even charmed some ravens

My favorite part about burning man was biking around with a lot of my best friends on a dry lake bed to look at, play on, and dance with incredible art that humans spent the previous year building. Burning Man is a lot of things, but most notably, to me, it is a beautiful and profound expression of the human spirit.

I bought a cheap mini digital camera so I didn’t need to bring my phone around with me, and here are a small handful of my favorites 😁

Joy and love and cuddling with friends and moonrises over the playa and laughing and dancing and assless chaps and squeaky bikes and desert art and barking at strangers and old friends and new friends and glory hole hotdogs and sunrises and sunsets and much much more 🤍

Wing Ding 2026 was a blast! A great time was had by all and was successful in raising funds to support the mission of The Whale Foundation. We are grateful for our sponsors, entertainment, auction item donors, all the participants near and far, and the great food! Combined with great friends, fun conversations, and a rocking after-party it was a special evening to remember. We can’t wait for next year’s Wing Ding!

Thanks to all who joined in the fun - these are just a few shots from the evening taken by our friend Walt Carr. @wgc33
Walt’s photos are up on our Wing Ding page (link in bio) - be sure to check them out! More to come from Matt Fahey and will be posted here and on our website.

See you on the river, in Grand Canyon, up on the mountain, strolling around town, and next year at the Wing Ding!

As I prep for another adventure between extremes, I became reminiscent of the adventure I had 2 years ago. 10 days and 250 miles of river travel through the Grand Canyon. One of the moments that reminded me of my capabilities when I was struggling to find grounding after some intense life changes. In this excitement I find myself questioning my preparedness, my ability to plan for the future, and coordinate my plans. But at the end of this, I think I will find another level of confidence in my abilities.

Something about water signs in the desert just seems right...
