Force plates are a valuable tool used in sports, medicine, and rehabilitation to measure the force clients use during motion. It helps coaches, trainers and clinicians understand how clients produce power, maintain balance, and perform complex movements.

Force plate testing measures:
✅Balance and Stability
✅Muscle Asymmetry
✅Explosive Power and Strength
✅Injury Risk
✅Movement Efficiency

Join us for our Body Blueprint: Measure What Matters Event on Saturday, June 27th from 9:00 to 4:00. We will be offering DEXA scans, the gold standard and body composition measurement as well as force plate testing and chair massages! To register: info@ekstasissc.com

PowerLab: Jump Testing (Rescheduled)

We’re back on for Saturday, April 4th at 11:00 AM at Basecamp.

This session will focus on Countermovement Jump (CMJ) testing using force plate technology to measure:
• Lower body power
• Asymmetries between sides
• Performance metrics you can actually use in training

Free to attend — but we’re capping it at 20 participants to keep testing efficient and individualized.

How to reserve your spot:
• Basecamp members → RSVP through the Basecamp app
• Non-members → Text 360-389-3156

If you’ve ever been curious about your power output or want objective data to guide your training, this is a great place to start.

GET A GRIP!

Grip strength isn’t just about your hands. It’s a window into total athletic performance.

At Praxis we use objective testing tools like handheld dynamometry to measure grip strength, force production, and asymmetries that can influence performance and injury risk.

Research has shown that grip strength correlates with:

• Upper body strength and pulling capacity
• Rotator cuff and shoulder stability
• Overall neuromuscular output
• Athletic performance in throwing and contact sports
• Even general health and injury risk

For athletes, grip strength matters because the kinetic chain often ends in the hand. If the final link is weak, it can alter how force transfers through the elbow and shoulder.

Using tools like the VALD Dynamo Plus, we can track grip strength objectively, compare sides, and monitor progress through rehab and performance training.

Objective data helps us answer important questions:

Is the athlete truly ready to return?
Is strength symmetrical?
Is force production improving over time?

At Praxis, testing isn’t about numbers alone — it’s about making better decisions for athletes.

Measure. Monitor. Perform.

Big thanks to @jermkirsch for coming to @idahofitnessacademy to show us the ropes with the @vald_performance force plates.

I love where rehab is headed.

Force plates give objective, real-time data about how a patient produces and absorbs force. Instead of guessing based on observation alone, you can measure exactly what’s happening.

After lower-extremity injury, patients often shift weight to the uninvolved side to unload during tasks like squats or jumping. With force plates you can quantify how much the person is unloading.

Force plates allow objective return to sport testing for:
Countermovement jump analysis
Drop jump mechanics
Reactive strength index
Rate of Force Development (Explosiveness)

Instead of “looks good,” you get measurable criteria before clearing athletes.
