Create & Cultivate was exactly how I needed to spend my weekend 💖📝🎀

Surrounded by female founders, industry leaders, inventors, & solution seekers. Congratulations to @marinaamiddleton on pulling off such an impressive & beautifully executed event. It truly felt like a festival meets business summit, with a focus on building, growing & scaling brands & businesses.

I was so thrilled for & proud of my dear friend @jess.glazer for speaking at this electric event ⚡️She has an incredible entrepreneurial journey & I’ve always been inspired by her big heart & brilliant perspective.

& remember, you are exactly who you think you are… so you might as well be making money moves & having some fun along the way. 💸🎀✨

there's one main reason above all else that I love going to events like Create & Cultivate:

The connections.

Because we're not meant to do life alone.

And connection is such a huge part of what makes us feel alive as women, but especially as entrepreneurs.

It's meeting someone you've followed online for years and finally getting to hug them in real life.

It's reconnecting with someone you already know and getting to take that relationship a little deeper.

It's the random conversation in a hallway that turns into a collaboration, a friendship, or just one of those “holy shit, I needed that conversation” moments.

It's being surrounded by women who get it.

And honestly? I think we underestimate how fucking important that is.

Speaking of the power of IRL connection... I've been wanting to create something to bring this into the work I do more directly (like in my biz, not the speaking/facilitating I do at other's events - though I f*cking LOVE pouring into other people's communities and lifting them up!)

And no, they're not going to be 1,000-person events. (My extroverted introvert ass could NEVER 😂)

You know me...I want small, intimate groups where we can actually get to know each other, go deep, do the work, laugh our asses off, and leave feeling like we found our people.

Which is also why I'm currently finalizing something I've been dreaming up for a while now...

👀 Rewire & Rewild Retreats are coming!!💃🪩

Think deep regulation + real inner work + dope ass adventures + a bunch of like-minded biz baddies.

More on that soon.

But for now, I'm just really freaking grateful for the women I've gotten to connect with this weekend, the ones I've gotten to reconnect with, and the reminder that so much of the good stuff in life happens when we get out from behind our screens and actually get in the room together. ❤️

Also my phone died before @iamcardib went on stage at the end, but the twerk magic energy in that crowd of women was EPICCCC!!! Thank you @createcultivate

Day 1 of Create & Cultivate was filled with inspiration, confirmation, reunions, recognition, flow, aha moments, depth, connection—and so much support.

I dare you to put yourself in a room—or on a campus, in this case—full of bad babes and try to leave as the same woman who walked in.

You can’t.

The right rooms don’t just inspire you.
They expand you.
They reflect your power back to you.
They remind you of what’s possible.

If you’re ready for your life to change, change your environment.

Proximity changes everything.

On May 2nd of this year I decided I was going to run the NYC marathon.

Why? I needed an outlet and a new challenge after my father passed in March. I figured let’s do something hard and raise money for a good cause.

Only problem was, I needed to find a way into the race.

So, I wrote a letter to @fredsteammskcc shared my story and was accepted to the team. Losing both of my parents to cancer, this felt like the perfect charity to raise money for.

Never a runner. In fact, like many people, I always despised distance running…mostly because I sucked at it.

Decided to hire an amazing coach, @joearinaldi and officially kicked off my training in June. Joe pushed me and guided me from not being a runner to doing 20 mile runs with relative ease. I ran 5 days a week for 5 months in preparation for the big day.

This past weekend I joined over 55,000 other runners and set out to complete the New York City Marathon. A major marathon that most consider the 2nd hardest major course.(Sydney is considered the hardest)

Although I missed my sub 4 hour goal coming in at 4:14, that wasn’t the point. The point was to do something hard, raise money, and have fun.

I trained hard, I finished the race, I raised over $13,000 for cancer research, and I had an absolute blast. The NYC crowd was electric and the energy was contagious.

Thank you to my wife @jess.glazer for holding everything down during the many hours of training and for all of the support throughout. Shoutout to my friends who were able to make it into the city to cheer me on! And shoutout to @alexscottcook who ran with me and pushed me on my long runs for the past couple months.

Special thank you to those that donated because without you, I wouldn’t have qualified.

Will I run another one? Ask me in a few days when I’m not so sore 😉
