Three roles, one play, five weeks to go. Here’s a quick look at who I’m playing in Easter in Alexandria, a new comedy by Jessica Abrams, directed by Annie Taft.

Pickle is an avid supporter of the arts. And these two artists need a solid amount of support. #actor #capybara #play #rehearsal #handmade

Made this for fun ahead of rehearsal pics.

I’m playing all three male roles in Easter in Alexandria, a new comedy by @jessicaabrams

Brevard, a self absorbed actor, navigating middle-age.

Frank, a sarcastic but loyal cat.

Jasper The Dog, who shows up for exactly one unforgettable scene.

Directed by Annie Taft, opening November 20 at the Art Center in Carrboro.

More to come as we get into rehearsals!

Have you gone on an artist date alone lately? Did you feel a sense of connection or intuitive pulls during it? I’d love to hear. This one today got me happy-tears’ed-up.

Want to give it a whirl? Pick a place that intuition has been calling you to and show up without a plan. Stay unplugged. Look up, not down. Follow each intuitive breadcrumb that shows up and see what it calls you to 🦋

We all have a story… and for most women, we have one where we lost our voice. Where our no wasn’t counted. Where are story was dismissed.

No more.

⬇️ Comment WOLF to help us tell the tale of what happens when women take their voices backkkkkkk!!!

Have you ever noticed this pattern??👀👀👀
She doesn’t talk about herself— she’s so HIMBLE..
She doesn’t ask for too much— she’s so HUMBLE.
She doesn’t take up too much space— so HUMBLE.
She has no needs or desires to speak of— HUMBLE!!

Naaaawww. She’s learned that her needs make her “difficult.” That her desires are “too loud.” Her feelings are “”too much.” And her dreams are “too big.”

She’s learned not to ask for help. Not to bet on herself, let alone ask you to bet on her. She’s well trained.

She eats dry cornflakes of external approval for breakfast, while salivating for the bacon of her deepest dreams, while swallowing her primal screams.

There is no such thing as a humble woman— Just one who learned to be quiet and to defer her value to external sources of approval.

A woman who knows her value isn’t humble. She is not arrogant either. But she doesn’t need to hide from her desire, dim her light, or supplicate herself to anyone.

She is grounded in truth. She knows who she is. And she chooses what’s she’s worth. She sets her price. She holds her value and doesn’t ask for permission to be as big as she is.

And in this…. She is terrifying.

Why?

Because a woman who doesn’t need external approval…

Is FREE.

To all the women I love out there being DISSAPPROVED OF— F+CK YASSSS!! I love you. I see you. LFG!!!🔥🔥🔥

WOLF is my story of losing my voice… and reclaiming it.
WOLF is the collective story of losing something deeply personal & sacred… and then going on the journey to find it again.

My story isn’t unique. I wish it was. I bet you have a story too…

When did you lose your voice?
When did you learn it wasn’t safe to speak up?
When did you swallow your NO?
When did you learn that quieter was safer? Easier?

Will you join me on this journey or reclamation?

Let’s rewrite our stories together.

COMMENT ‘WOLF’ 🐺to join me on this adventure!

We are making a 🎥 music video for my original song WOLF that explores the themes of loss & reclamation, of victimizatiob to empowerment… from hunted— to HUNTRESS.

Will you join us?
