I just want to read, reading is my favorite.
But I have to make sure the kids are fed and the house is clean and then I can read 😂

It’s been a while since I’ve done a book challenge or a book stack, but @bowsbooks tagged me in the book word challenge. She picked the word “ghost”, for me after she completed the word “coffin”. Finding a title with “G” was a challenge. I actually have a book, but the author has been accused of using AI, so obviously I didn’t want to post it.

So here is my stack:

Y'all I am a sucker for History, but let me recuperate from The Women by Kristin Hannah (review on my page) FYI, did you know I got so into the book I dreamt about it? YES!! OMG! 😱😱 I woke up and I was like WTH???? Like I was in Vietnam with Frankie, Ethel, and Barb (if you read the book you know the characters) also, my Godfather was a Vietnam Veteran ♥️🙏🏽 (Miss you) Anyways, y'all can be kind and follow this girly! She got some amazing book references over there..

Happy New Year, friends!
I’m starting the year with a young adult horror called The Darkness Greeted Her by Christina Ferko. I’m 50 % through it right now and already really enjoying it. Think Girl Interrupted but with a camp setting and Yellowjackets vibes. This book comes out in February, so I’ll be talking about it more later this month, but right now I’d say keep your eyes out for this one!

Which book are you starting the new year with? I’ve tagged some friends for them to do their own post to share. No pressure to actually do it, though. I thought it would be fun to see what we are all reading right now.

✨The longest night of the year is the perfect time for slow, intentional reading and thoughtful book recommendations. There is something especially magical about books set in wintery, snow covered landscapes that invite you to cozy up to a good book ❄️

No book is more perfect to start on this day than Susan Cooper's a dark fantasy novel which starts on Midwinter's Eve, December 20th and unfolds day‑by‑day through the midwinter season, culminating on Twelfth Night.

I'm going to start reading it with my kids over the next two weeks and hopefully they enjoy this dark fantasy novel as much as I did at their age.

This book came recommended by someone I follow on TikTok, and I’m so glad I gave it a try—it was my first Robert Bailey read. I had never heard of him but this will not be my last.

This political thriller had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It weaves together lifelong friendships that ultimately lead to the White House—until tragedy strikes, putting those bonds to the test. It left me asking myself, what would I do in their place? ( and can the president separate family from government)

The characters were incredibly well written—you could truly understand their thoughts and predict their actions. Just amazing writing!

💔 Some scenes really tugged at my heart—you could truly feel the pain of watching a loved one suffer wishing you could take away their pain. 😢

All the emotions—friendship, regret, tough moral choices, blackmail, love for family, heartbreak, and those jaw-dropping OMG, what if?! moments.

📚Story:
The president of the United States has terminal cancer. Chief of Staff Eli James, his faithful consigliere and best friend, is one of the few who know. But just as the president’s condition mysteriously improves, Eli’s hit with another blow: his daughter has cancer too.
