Is tracking everything you eat unhealthy? 🤔 Someone genuinely asked me this the other day and I thought it was a great question… For me, tracking isn’t dieting. It’s understanding. I know my requirements, eat foods I enjoy and adjust my intake depending on my goals and activity. If anything, it gives me MORE freedom, not less. This week’s a perfect example. I’m preparing for Hyrox on Saturday, so I’m increasing my carbohydrates to help fuel my performance. Today’s intake: 🔥 3,428 calories 🥩 212g protein 🍚 501g carbs 🥑 70g fat I use @jetlagged_chef for most of my meals, which makes staying consistent and knowing what I’m eating incredibly easy. But here’s the important bit… You don’t need to track everything forever. And tracking isn’t for everyone. The goal is to understand your nutritional requirements well enough that you can make informed decisions, enjoy your food and adapt to whatever life throws at you. For me, that’s freedom. Curious though… do you find tracking helpful or restrictive? 👇

What if you could track your nutrition without actually tracking everything you eat? 👀 That’s exactly what we make possible @jetlagged_chef 👨‍🍳 Our meal plans are built around consistent calorie ranges, meaning each meal type contains approximately the same number of calories. But we don’t just provide the food. We help you understand your nutritional requirements, whether your goal is to lose body fat, build muscle, improve performance or simply feel better. More importantly, we help you make those requirements work around YOUR lifestyle. Want breakfast with the family? Great. Enjoy a few snacks throughout the day? No problem. Dinner out at the weekend? Absolutely. Your nutrition should complement your lifestyle, not control it. Our goal has always been to make eating well easier to understand, easier to manage and, most importantly, easier to stay consistent with. If you’re looking to improve your nutrition, fuel your body properly and take the guesswork out of eating well, give JLC a try. I genuinely don’t think you’ll look back. Changing meal prep perceptions since 2020. 🚀

Eating more doesn’t have to mean changing everything. 👀 HYROX race week. Ep 3/6 🏁 Today I’ve increased my carbs from my usual 400g to 500g. Rather than completely changing my diet, I’ve simply added some extra carbohydrates to or around the meals I already enjoy. Today’s intake: 🔥 3,475 calories 🍚 500g carbohydrates 🥩 228g protein 🥑 68g fat I use @jetlagged_chef for the bulk of my meals, which makes this so much easier. They’re already balanced and macro tracked, so I know what I’m getting and can build the rest of my day around them. The goal this week is to arrive on Saturday properly fuelled, recovered and ready to beat my previous Hyrox time. But the same principle applies to everyday life… Whether you want to lose body fat, build muscle or simply feel better, understanding your requirements allows you to make small, measured adjustments without overhauling your diet. Consistency gives you a starting point. Understanding your nutrition gives you flexibility.

Can eating MORE help me race FASTER? 🏁 HYROX race week. Ep 2/6 I’ll be using @jetlagged_chef for the bulk of my meals, keeping my nutrition consistent and easy to track, then adding carbohydrates where needed. The beauty of already knowing your requirements? Making adjustments becomes much easier. The goal isn’t to eat as much as possible. It’s to arrive on Saturday properly fuelled, recovered and ready to beat my previous time. If all else fails, at least I’ve got a nice new race shirt. 😂

Hyrox race week is here and I’ve got one goal… Beat my previous time. Over the next 6 days, I’m going to show you exactly how I’m adjusting my nutrition, training and recovery to give myself the best chance of doing just that. No drastic changes. No magic foods. Just understanding what my body needs and making adjustments at the right time and some @jetlagged_chef meals 😂 I’ll share the numbers, the meals, the reasoning and, ultimately, the result. Will eating more help me go faster? Let’s find out. 😂 Tomorrow, I’ll break down the plan. 🏁

Understanding your nutritional requirements doesn’t need to be complicated… Here’s a simple STARTING point I use for someone who’s very active. REMEMBER You have to test things. Take your bodyweight in kg and multiply it by… 🍚 5 = grams of carbohydrates 🥩 2.5 = grams of protein 🥑 1 = grams of fat For someone weighing 80kg, that works out to… 400g carbs 200g protein 80g fats 3120 calories per day. Now, this isn’t a magic formula or a one size fits all approach. It’s a starting point that we can adjust depending on your activity, goals and progress. Some people could go with 3,2,1 or 4,2,1… IT DEPENDS. But here’s the important part. Once you understand your requirements, you can start building your food around them. For me, that’s eggs on toast or a breakfast from @jetlagged_chef, some carbohydrates before training, my oat bowl afterwards and JLC meals throughout the day. Foods I enjoy. Meals that are convenient. And a structure I can consistently follow. You don’t need to eat the same foods as me, and you certainly don’t need to eat the same amount. You need to understand what works for YOU. Because the goal isn’t just to follow a meal plan. It’s to understand your nutrition well enough that you can make it work around your lifestyle. Understand your requirements. Build your routine. Stay consistent. Obviously a meal plan makes it soooo much easier.

1,000 calories of pizza and still on track. 🍕 Just because something is made with healthier ingredients doesn’t necessarily mean it’s low in calories. Also, just because something is high in calories doesn’t mean you can’t eat it. 🧠 As for the pizza recipe… I was going to keep that a secret, but apparently that’s not how social media works. 1 like and I’ll share it 😂 As I always say… Understanding your requirements, planning ahead and make adjustments where needed. No @jetlagged_chef meals today, but the same principles apply. Understand your nutrition and you give yourself so much more flexibility.

If your diet is too complicated to stick to, what’s the point? Find foods you enjoy, understand your requirements and build a routine you can repeat. That’s exactly what I do with my clients. @jetlagged_chef makes my main meals easy, @macrosfirst helps me keep track of my intake, and I build everything else around foods I genuinely enjoy. No unnecessary restrictions. No starting over every Monday. Keep it simple. Stay accountable. Repeat what works. Consistency over time will always beat the occasional perfect day.
