Meet your Winter Escape instructors, what a lineup of individually strong women 💪 🎄

I’m so pleased to have these two joining me in Coniston. Between us, there’s a lot of dance experience, plenty of energy and a whole weekend of movement and Christmas fun to share with you!

Obviously me, Melissa Black | Your retreat host
Professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and founder of @the_studio_tynemouth and @the.strongwomanprogram . Melissa brings together her experience in dance, barre, yoga and personal training, helping women get stronger, explore what their bodies can do and enjoy moving. Her retreats bring all of that together, with time to pause and connect too.

Nichola Wilson | Dance instructor
With 37 years of dance experience and over 15 years of professional teaching, Nichola has taught everything from Ballroom and Latin to Contemporary Jazz and Musical Theatre. Her championship dance school achieved five British Championship titles, and she’s bringing her award-winning experience—and a little Strictly sparkle the Saturday of our winter weekend.

Diane “Jet” Youdale | Guest instructor
You’ll know Diane as Jet from Gladiators, and we’ll be welcoming her to Coniston for Sunday’s Pilates and dance fitness classes. Drawing on her background in dance and for those that didn’t know her professional training as a dancer too and fitness, she’ll be joining us for a whole morning of movement Pilates and dance before we enjoy lunch and a walk together.

Just 10 places left for our annual escape to the lakes…

It’s all about dance, lovely food, mulled wine by the fire and a weekend away with us. Message me if you’d like to join us. ❤️

4-7th of Dec 🎄🎄

I want to share a very personal story about why I am so driven to build my business empire.

Before I lost my mum she once said to me how about if you do the chairperson job for the reviews.

Back then I was just a person with lived experience and the old systems never told me how to move up the table.

But I have completely turned my life around and now I am the CEO which means I am the boss of the whole panel.

Going from being homeless to being a boss running my own national care agency is something else and I know my mum would be so proud.

A new housemate just moved into my shared accommodation after being completely homeless for 4 months.

Seeing him finally get his own room reminded me that these places are an absolute lifeline.

I know exactly what it feels like to have nothing and to be sleeping on friends sofas for months on end.

I know how hard it is when you do not even have your own room to just chillax and feel safe.

It is the reason I am working so hard right now on our upcoming winter contracts to become financially stable.

The absolute first thing I am going to buy when my business takes off is my own place which will be my dream bungalow.

Once I have secured my own home and my own foundation my next dream goal is to buy another property that I can completely do up.

I want to use that second place to let people move in who are going through hard times like being homeless so they can have a roof over their head.

It is a big dream goal that will take a lot of time and effort and hard work to get there but I know I can turn it into a reality.

Maybe in 5 years time you never know where I will be but my mission is to use my success to help the homeless myself.

Never let your current situation define your future because you can completely turn your life around on your own merits.

Thank you to my brilliant UK network for always backing my vision as a solo founder and leader.

Is there even any point in working at the @gladiators.experience as a fan if you don’t get to meet your heroes? 💪🏼📸 I was always super professional while working, but you gotta take whatever perks of the job you can get! 😜

Finally got to meet @jetloves too after all these years, who was always my absolute favourite from the original series! 🙌🏼 #DreamComeTrue

Big shoutout to the lovely photo girlies who properly looked after me & sorted me out with some wonderful treasured souvenirs! 🫶🏼 (check out the final slides to see my very own Stats Cards #NoShame)

🌍✨ BIG NEWS! Your girl is going GLOBAL! ✨🌍

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have been officially invited to be an international speaker at the Empowering Invisible Disabilities Global Summit this December! 🎤💻

After making the massive leap in April to focus entirely on myself and growing my own independent businesses, taking my voice to a global stage feels incredible.

I’ll be representing Denise Bowles (Denbo)—the independent author, trainer, and entrepreneur. I’m going to be speaking directly to an international audience about a topic so close to my heart: getting disabled people into flexible work where they can choose their own hours, earn their own wages, and truly thrive and shine without the pressure! 💎💼

People love to make assumptions when you have a learning disability, and some even want to see you fail. But with the right support and workload, we cope, we achieve, and we win. I’m stepping onto this global platform to smash that stigma and show them exactly what we are capable of.

Watch this space! The countdown to December 4th is officially ON! 🔴⏳

You know how much I love a retreat and this is literally from one retreat to the next , and I’m so excited to bring this one a little closer to home. We’re heading to Lanehead House in Coniston for our annual weekend of dance, movement, lovely food and all the Christmas fun from 4-7th of December 🎄

Friday starts with a showgirl workshop, followed by cheese and mulled wine by the fire, then karaoke. On Saturday we’ve got breakfast barre, contemporary dance and musical theatre jazz. Then on Sunday, Diane “Jet” Youdale @jetloves is joining us to teach Pilates and dance fitness before we head into Coniston for a walk. And yes, there will be a Christmas quiz. @victoriaharbottle27 🤣🤣🤣

Diane and I have more planned together, including Diane guest teaching as a strong women herself on the launch of The Strong Woman Program over International Women’s Day, and a very special flashmob in North Tyneside in May. I can’t wait to share it all with you and also get you all involved.

I’m limiting Coniston to 15 places, which means we can all stay together for the classes, with no splitting into groups, and keep that personal retreat feeling I love so much.

It’s a fully catered for retreat, with 2 nights for £400, 3 nights sharing for £450, or 3 nights in a single room for £550. A £200 deposit secures your place on any package, with the balance due 30 November.

Message me if you’d like to come and I’ll send you a booking form, I think this is going to be such a special weekend. ❤️

Remember JET? 🛩
Of course you do!

I was lucky to meet this 90's icon during her run on the show as a young teen... I remember being so nervous!

Over 30 years later and this year I have met Jet not once but twice! This time, she appeared at For The Love Of Retro comic con in Telford alongside Hunter, Shadow, and Cobra. See my grid for more (with more to come).

Jet (Diane) is warm, unassuming, considerate, appreciative... Definitely worth a hello if you see her at an event but be warned, she's still really popular so there will be a queue!

Thanks again @jetloves it was lovely to see you x

❓️What are your memories of Jet and of being a Jet fan in the 90's?

✨ HARD WORK AND PATIENCE ALWAYS WIN — IT’S FINALLY OFFICIAL! ✨

I have some absolutely wonderful news to share with you all! After a lot of determination and patiently playing the paperwork waiting game over the last month, my business now officially has its very own active business bank account! 🥳🥂

I have worked incredibly hard to build everything step-by-step from the ground up. Passing this milestone means Expert CTR Panel Ltd is fully set up, legally banked, and ready for the next big chapter.

The very next step for me now is to apply for business funding! Once I receive everything I need back from the business bank, I will be moving straight ahead with the funding applications, hopefully within the next week. 📈💼

Never let anyone tell you that your barriers or a learning disability can hold you back from achieving your dreams. Standing up for what is right, having grit, and staying true to your mission always win in the end. I am so proud to officially step into my role as a fully functional, banked CEO! 💎✨

Thank you so much to everyone who has believed in me and supported my journey so far. This is just the beginning! 🙌🌟

For The Love Of Retro, Telford Comic Con Pt.2

Jet needed to be on my grid too... She was my instant fave in '92 and it has been lovely meeting her twice this year having only met her once in the 90's. She is so warm and welcoming and it has been wonderful connecting with her.

It was also great to have some fun with Hunter, Cobra and Shadow! And to see Shadow reunited with his former teammates, it clearly meant a lot to them all.

Surreal moment of the day was Cobra sitting with us (telling Neal he looked like a comedian called Kenny Logan, look him up, he's not wrong!) whilst Hunter got up and wrestled... I mean, he seems to be able to turn his hand to anything but where did that come from??!

Such a pleasure to see them all in their element and all the love for them still present from so many people.

Speaking of in their element, put Neal in front of a load of free arcade and console games and his day was made! TBF I enjoyed it too, we need Mario Kart back in our lives!

This day was a highlight of my year ⭐️
The OG Gladiators are still inspiring me now!
