Some artists do more than create work. They leave fingerprints on a generation of dancers. 💙

For years, Jenn Freeman has poured into our dancers season after season through movement, storytelling, honesty, and artistry that challenges dancers to go deeper. She has become such a huge part of what MDC is and the way our dancers learn to create, think, and feel.

Now after years in the making, her film *Room to Move* is finally premiering on Netflix May 27 and we could not be more proud to celebrate this incredible moment with her. 🎬✨

Please help us show Jenn some love and support this beautiful project by watching and sharing!

Nina, watching you dance last night at your CHS Spring Recital during your senior year felt like such a full-circle moment. Three years ago, you decided to step away from competitive dance, but your passion and love for it never disappeared. Last year, you returned to dance as part of your curriculum and enjoyed every second of being back where your heart belongs.

This year, you challenged yourself even more by choreographing this beautiful piece alongside two of your dance friends. Watching you perform with so much passion, confidence, and fire made us incredibly proud. Your artistry, creativity, and dedication truly shine every time you step on stage.

We also want to thank the many teachers, mentors, and choreographers who helped guide and inspire you throughout your dance journey. To your @miamidancecollective family, especially @marielouisegaschler, @epiglesias, @kd_richards, @angelinaadiaz, @imemrod, and @brianacampbell — thank you for believing in her and helping shape the dancer and young woman she is today. And to @jfreemover, @_mattluck, @koko_iwasaki, @gabe_katz and many others who shared their talent and passion with Nina over the years, thank you for leaving such a meaningful impact on her life.

Although she is not pursuing dance professionally, she is continuing her journey by majoring in Dance Science at Elon University, where she hopes to help and support dancers in the future.

Nina, you make us proud every single day. Keep dreaming big, keep shining bright, and never stop believing in yourself. The sky is truly the limit. We love you endlessly ❤️

this year has truly been the best year of my life. i am forever grateful for the new people i have met and also my amazingly talented team. i have so much love for all the teachers i have taken class from i always leave so fulfilled and wanting more. this year i have learned that dance is truly more than just winning competitions and being perfect, its about community and enjoying what you’re creating and letting go of perfection. dance is not only my sport/art it’s also my constant in life, it’s something i look forward to everyday because I know i can always make something out of every class and push myself.

This weekend was one Olive will never forget 🤍

She really wanted to take on this weekend… one last city with one of her favorite events, Revive @revive_dance_convention and she did it in a way that honestly made me so proud.

I gave her space. I stayed in the back of the room most of the time, working and just watching it all unfold. I only gave feedback when she asked… which, honestly, wasn’t much at all 😂 She didn’t need it. She worked hard without a single nudge. So focused, so driven, and so calm the entire weekend.

It was filled with so much joy… late night chats, midnight burritos , nonstop laughter, and those uncontrollable giggle attacks that somehow become the best memories. She was surrounded by such a strong, vibrant group of girls, and you could feel how much she was taking it all in.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, she found her people. She made so many new friends from DC Dance and reconnecting with old ones who are officially part of her girl gang now, and we already cannot wait to see them again at Nationals 🫶🏼 @dcdancefactory

What made this weekend so special wasn’t just what happened on stage, but everything in between. Olive was seen. Truly seen. She received so much love and acknowledgment, being called out across so many different styles… and every single time, she’d look at me with this little face of shock. And in her eyes, you could just see it… that moment where it clicked. The hard work worked. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t her why but she just needed that moment of “You can do this”.

She went into the weekend with a goal, and while it didn’t unfold exactly how she imagined, that’s okay. Because what she gained was even more meaningful. The growth, the confidence, the presence, the way she carried herself and embraced every moment… that’s the kind of progress that lasts.

Sometimes the biggest wins don’t come wrapped the way you expect… they show up in the quiet moments where you realize how far you’ve come.

And this weekend, that was everything 🤍

Off to our happy place tomorrow. There is no other way to spend the tail end of your journey as a mini than at @revive_dance_convention with the people that have literally watched her grow up from when she was just a thought and dream to now celebrating ten years with revive. Literally the same age ya’ll. Here we come Atlanta.
