Jessie mentioned this quote during her class on International Dance Day as she was teaching how to fall safely, and how we shouldn’t be afraid of it. Awed by the profundity of the quote, I remember thinking, “Wow, even in dance, we are learning lessons applicable in life.”

Fall—the act, the process, the state—often gets clump together with failure. And failure itself, just has a negative connotation. Who wants to fail, right? But, is failing really that bad?

The energy from the fall, the lesson from the failure, can shape us, refine us, propel us into something better. So, friends, let us learn to fall better, recover better, and live better.
