I had a fukken BLAST at transsexual stripper protest night. It was truly healing! I loved spending it with pals that have been doing incredible work for the sexwerk and queer nightlife communities for probably a decade at this point?? Frustrating that the government has intentionally mishandled the spread of airborne diseases and raised the fares of public transit despite its literal toxic conditions, but we're mutants out here thriving regardless. 😈❤️‍🔥 Anyway I went straight to the DMV after this, I am a freak 24/7 365

RED CANARY SCREAMS ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got to spend the whole day with @dominajia, supporting them as they worked their embroidery magic!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ we were at RED CANARY SCREAMS, an annual kinky fundraiser for @RedCanarySong. It’s a grassroots group led by Asian American sex workers and allies, and it advocates for Asian massage parlor workers in Flushing, Queens, as well as for migrant workers more broadly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ these are pics we took with some of the folx who stopped by our booth today! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #JusticeForYangSong #SexWorkersRights #RightsNotRescue #RightsNotRaids ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ and if you’re still reading, here are a few things I’ve learned from Red Canary (and @decrimNY): ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔆 the fight for lgbtq rights and sex worker rights have always been tied together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔆 sex workers are the bedrock of our immigrant communities. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔆 there are many groups that purport to center sex workers in their mission. And yet sex workers are nowhere to be seen within their ranks. Instead, these groups are often driven by a white supremacist, white feminist, Christian Savior Complex that conflates all sex work with human trafficking, and that fails to recognize consensual sex work as *work* that deserves equal protections and recognitions as any other trade. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [1: a photo of Jin and me behind the embroidery table, smiling for the camera. Jin is holding up a pair of black panties with the Red Canary Song logo embroidered onto them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2: a photo of the embroidery designs that Jin prepped for the event. They include butt plugs of various colors, a BDSM Hello Kitty, and text phrases like “Mommy / Daddy,” “Slut,” “Switch,” “Freak,” “puppy,” and more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3: a selfie of Kate, Jin, and me, smiling for the camera. A sign that says “MERCH” is visible behind us, and Jin’s gigantic embroidery machine is in the left side of the photo. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4: a photo of @emigrate_drag, posing for the camera. Emi is wearing a blue-themed outfit, including the bow in her hair, her eye makeup, and her bejeweled spaghetti strap top. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5: a selfie of four folks smiling for the camera, including Tiffany Cabán and State Senator Julia Salazar.]
