Fridman Gallery through New Ear (@newearinc)’s program is honored to present KINETIC ROOTS by Jinyoung Park (@jinjinyouu) and collaborators. About the Work: Home is not a fixed place, but a space that continues to be created through the time and memories we have lived through, and through the relationships we form with the people we meet along the way. Bodies and sounds originating from different places and times follow the sensations of movement and memory, departure and staying. Body and object, music and poetry look at the same journey through different languages. Through beings who move with memories of the past, form relationships in unfamiliar spaces, stay for a while, and then leave again, the work asks questions about the places where we stay and the relationships we create. ————————— Link in Bio to RSVP!

한국과 미국의 예술가들이 함께 만든 무용 × 사운드 퍼포먼스 《집 : 움직이는 뿌리》 🗽 NEW YORK Sep 25–26, 2026 · 7:30PM Fridman Gallery · New Ear 🇰🇷 SEOUL Oct 30–31, 2026 · 7:30PM 반줄 Banjul #fridmangallery #banjul #home #performance #집

Home : Kinetic Roots Home is not a fixed place. It is built through time, memory, and the people we meet along the way. Bodies from different cultures and languages bring their own sense of home— through movement and sound. Arriving. Leaving. Coming back again. Where do we truly belong? A movement & sound performance born from Korean–American collaboration. Home : Kinetic Roots asks what it means to carry a home within you. 🗽 NEW YORK Sep 25–26, 2026 · 7:30PM Fridman Gallery · New Ear 🇰🇷 SEOUL Oct 30–31, 2026 · 7:30PM Banjul #fridmangallery #banjul #home #performance #집

PART 1 The Body of the Past The body exists in the present while carrying traces of time already lived. Images and objects call up the past; the body walks, looks, repeats and transforms, moving between past and present. PART 2 Home in Relation Different bodies and sounds enter an emptied space. Poetry, music and movement respond to one another, creating temporary relationships and, for a moment, a home. #fridmangallery #banjul #home #performance #집

ARTIST’S NOTE I began this work by thinking about home. Home can be the place where we were born and raised, but I believe it can be created through the time we spend with someone and through the relationships we form. While moving and working across different environments, I began to feel that the body moves while carrying memories. The places we have left behind, the people we have encountered, and the time we have lived through remain within the body, and move again in a new space. In this work, I do not want to define home as a fixed place, but rather as a space temporarily created when bodies, memories, and relationships come together. — Jinyoung Park #fridmangallery #banjul #home #performance #집
