Very proud to be recognised by Master Builders Victoria for Best Sustainable Home Under $2M.

It was an honour to transform this Albert Park workers cottage, building a high-performing modern home that thoughtfully balanced sustainability with heritage preservation.

We were up against some tough competition, making this award a dream come true.

A huge thank you to our wonderful clients, the incredibly hardworking NBuilt team, Jost Architects and Jade Cantwell for capturing it all so beautifully.

One of our favourite photos we have ever taken on a project.

No detail shot, no data, no finished room lit perfectly for the camera. Just a kick of the footy out the back of a Passive House with one of our clients’ kids.

We spend a lot of time talking about airtightness and insulation and all the technical work that goes into these homes, and we will keep doing that because it matters. But every now and then you get a photo that quietly reminds you what the whole thing is actually for. It is not the certificate or the blower door number. It is the family that ends up living there.

Stop what you're doing and have a look at this kitchen from our Merry Project.

Green and Pink - the best colour combination - compliments the Blackbutt Veneer joinery by @nosiva_custom_cabinetry and a view out to Merri Creek so good you'll forget you're meant to be cooking.

I’m sharing a little more about my process of putting an exhibition together, both in the shooting stage and the editing stage.

Once a body of work is shot and processed, it takes me a couple of months to land on which images will stay in the collection and which will be stored for different use.

In my studio, I process all the images, (days and months of shoots) and start selecting some for test printing. I arrange walls of prints, gathered together by location, colour or pattern. I note which images compliment each other or tell a story together and will try them in groups.

I think about the relevance of the image to the concept and slowly come to the final decisions of what to include. Then I start test printing on selected papers, checking colours, paper surfaces and image quality.

At the same time I’m thinking about titles for the works and a title for the exhibition. There is so much to think about to pull together a cohesive collection of images.

Is there any part of the process you’re interested in me talking more about? Let me know in the comments if so!

My next exhibition PATTERN~ity opens at Lon Retreat on 11 September. PATTERN~ity is a collection of contemplative aerial landscapes, capturing the effects of water on the landscape over time. I’ve captured rivers, lakes and waterways in our region, coloured beautiful patterns that look like artworks from above. I can’t wait to share more with you soon…

Thank you @jjjjade for the videos capturing me at work, both in the landscape and in the studio. xx
