POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🚨Long video alert🚨 165 days ago I posted on TikTok saying I wanted to open a bookstore. And well… here we are! I managed to cram nearly 6 months into an 8 minute video showing how far we’ve come.

If you don’t know our story, here’s a glimpse! We’re still so happy you’re here 🥹

I can’t even imagine what baby JL would think about us opening Mogadore’s first ever bookstore cafe in that building behind her. I’ll be crying healing tears forever 😭

What’s something about your life now that your childhood self would be proud of? 🥹

On October 3rd, we had our Franklin Fixtures delivered 💁‍♀️

Construction is a bit behind schedule but we’re not letting anything stop us 💪

Thanks to everyone who came to help out this morning! Seeing these in store is genuinely surreal 🥹

Stay tuned for so many updates in the coming weeks!

Help wanted 😀 This Saturday at 8am our @franklinfixtures are coming in and we need 3-5 people to help us unload the truck!

Donuts will be provided at some point in the morning (if you want that to be your job, first come, first served!)

📚 COMMUNITY SERVE OPPORTUNITY: Willow & Wand Books and Coffee!

We’re excited to support Jordan as she gets ready to open the doors to Willow & Wand!

THIS SATURDAY, October 3 at 8 AM, Jordan is looking for a few extra hands to help move and install the bookshelves. The job will involve some heavy lifting, moving shelves, and anchoring them into place — and should only take about 2–3 hours.

If you’re able to lend a hand, please reach out to Jordan (@jlmcvey_ ) directly by message or text ASAP!

Want to support Willow & Wand in other ways? Fill out the volunteer form on their website at the link in their bio. @willowandwand.books

Let’s show up for one of our local community members and help bring this exciting new space to life!

This is the part where it starts looking like a bookstore. 📚

Plans are approved. Four months of paperwork, done. Trades can work, inspections can happen, shelving can come.

Still a mountain of work left, and I'd rather do it with you than alone. willowandwandbooks.com, link in bio. ⚡️

I came here half expecting someone to talk me out of Willow & Wand but man am I glad that I was wrong. Lots of feelings this evening, but most of all grateful for community, both old and new. 🫶

Doing something a little different this weekend because this song wrecked me this Sunday morning as I heard stories of brokenness and healing and saw my childhood best friend, who has never given up on me no matter how far I’ve strayed, on stage leading worship. God is up to something in the village of Mogadore and within @five39church that I can’t quite comprehend or explain.

The “dream” behind Willow & Wand isn’t just good coffee and a good book... it’s a place of community, belonging, and not feeling so alone in such an isolated world. A place “where stories take root”, if you will.

Our stories are powerful and I am so unbelievably thankful for everyone whose been a part of my story going all the way back to the first day of Kindergarten in Miss Uhall’s class at OH Somers in 1999 to the gentleman I met this past Wednesday when he asked to park his truck in our parking lot during his granddaughter’s volleyball game at the high school.

There’s absolutely no reason this should all be working out, I mean zero, nada, zip, zilch. I went into this with very little money, having been sick with RSV for 2ish months, and on the edge of serious burn out and walking away from somewhere I loved and thought I’d retire from.

I don’t know what the future of Willow & Wand holds, but for some reason it just keeps going, and people are showing up in ways that I don’t feel that I deserve but am thankful beyond words for.

I’m not even sure what my point is here other than saying Praise God, thank you, welcome, and I cannot wait to meet you (hopefully soon) at Willow & Wand this Fall.

All my love,
JL 🫶

Didn’t get electrocuted today 🤙 On a real note, I did have an electrician walk through today to work out another estimate. I’m REALLY hoping we can get that locked in ASAP so I can’t stop stressing the $$$ and start to really focus on the actual books and coffee part of the bookstore cafe 🙏 #indieBookstore #bookstorecafe #willowandwand

Paint color reveal 🎨🫣 What started as “let’s see if I like the color”, turned into “let’s paint everything” maybe tomorrow I’ll get some samples for the children me section! #noragrets #notevenasingleletter #indiebookstore #bookstorecafe #august
