At CrossFit Gris Gris, every coach is the one who someone needed that day.

Coach Amber — the one who brings the energy when the room is still half asleep.

Coach Mike — the one who says “3…2…1…GO!” like the fate of the world depends on it.

Coach Rob — the one who isn’t afraid to throw a no-rep when you know you need it.

Coach Duncan — the one who shows up at 5:15am making discipline look normal.

Coach Jeremiah — the one who reminds you why you started when your mind wants to quit.

Coach Jon — the one who can coach your lift, tattoo your story, and help build the place you call your gym.

And Coach Joette — the one who built the heart of it all.The one who listens like a therapist, leads like a warrior, and somehow carries the whole community in a tiny but fierce frame.

Different coaches.Different styles.Same mission.

To make you stronger than you thought you were.

New Orleans MRS was proud to host the Norwegian Ruck March last week along the lakefront. We were honored to have Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and civilian participants take on the 18.6-mile ruck. Congratulations to all who participated and successfully completed the march!! Shout out to first place Garcia and second place Holmes with times of 4:07 and 4:09 🎊

A huge shout out to SFC Ryan Meaux for not only planning this event and making it happen- but also completing it alongside SSG Dujay Dozier! 💪

“See you tomorrow.” Is what you hear everyday.

And the thing is, they actually expect to see you again tomorrow, and the next day and the next day, until eventually you’ll be the one telling that new member, “see you tomorrow”.

Because this time you found a gym that’s different and you stuck with it.

Because the people there support you when you aren’t feeling your best.

Because the people there celebrate your little wins as much as your big wins. Because they are your family away from home.

Who do you surround yourself with?

Today was Kendell’s last day at CrossFit Gris Gris. The workout was good, but the moments after were the part that hit. She gave a short speech and it reminded all of us what community actually does for you.

She has been here for three years, about as long as I have. When she moved to New Orleans she didn’t feel at home until she walked into this gym. You show up every day, you see the same faces, and it starts to feel like family.

I talk about this a lot. I didn’t need CrossFit when I signed up. I needed people. I needed a place that pushed me in fitness and in life. Kendell said the same thing today.

Moments like this are a reminder that we all need community at some point in our life, even if we don’t realize it yet.

Earned my Thanksgiving pie today. Twelve minutes, six Burpee box jump overs each minute. Almost took a fall on round nine but somehow saved it. Graceful is optional. Finishing is not.

One of the most humbling pieces of equipment in the gym is the echo bike. I thought my cardio was decent until I get on this bike. Workout sessions with this monster in it humbles me every time.

Anytime I see it in the workout I feel like Michael Scott when he sees Toby back in the office. “NOOOOOO!!!! NO GOD NO!!!!”

I started Operation Eagles Row with one mission: to push myself every single day while raising awareness and support for the Talons Reach Foundation. 💪🦿

This journey isn’t just about rowing 10,000 meters for 1,000 days—it’s about honoring our veterans, shining a light on their sacrifices, and proving what consistency and resilience can do.

Every pull on the rower is a reminder that the fight for healing, strength, and purpose never ends. This is bigger than me—it’s about giving back to those who’ve given everything and asked for nothing. 🦅🇺🇸

Follow and help me share my mission in letting our veterans know they are not alone.
