saying hi to senior year :)

When I was a little girl, my career aspirations were always changing. When I was asked “What do you want to be when you’re older?” my answer was ever-changing, from marine biologist to veterinarian to journalist. But one answer always remained constant. Whatever my answer was, I would always say “…and I want to write a book.”

When I was 19, I started writing poetry to deal with whatever was going on in my life. I would get an echo in my head of a line or even just 2 words that rhymed and I’d scribble it in my journal or notes app. This habit continued until last fall, 2022, I decided to work through the 300+ poems I wrote and create a collection.

I am so proud to say that after a year of working on it, I have achieved the dream of little Alyssa.

I published a book!!!!

My book, Heartbreaks and Childhood Keepsakes, is now available at Barnes and Noble.

This book is my diary, it is me navigating the intense and confusing emotions of not only romantic relationships but my relationship with my myself and my family.

This piece of my heart is now yours, and in it I can only dream that those who pick it up can find a sense of healing and closure in reading this book, like I did writing it.

Order on the Barnes and Noble website, linked in my bio!!!!

I’d like to thank my high school art teacher, Kara Daviau (@createdbykaradise)for working with me to create the cover exactly as I envisioned it, making my dreams come to life!!!

And of course, my dear friend Jared (@jnesciphoto) for the beautiful pictures💌
