For years, I documented my Sundays on social media. A video from every pre-service prayer circle, sharing my notes after the service - anyone remember those days?

I didn’t stop because the Lord stopped moving, but because leading the local church has become such a sacred and safe space for me: it often feels hard to share online.

But this was one of those weekends I have to just bear witness to what He’s done. It started Friday, hearing my dear @hosanna.wong bring a word I personally needed on Friday night at @freedomchurchmc. (Ps - she is speaking at @bravecharleston: get your ticket!) Saturday, I attended the funeral of a friend’s father: a beautiful testament to how he has changed countless lives through genuine and quiet sacrifice - inside and outside the church.

Plus my friend @jnobles was in town, with her husband, Mike. Janelle has grown from a friend to a mentor to a spiritual guide for me, and both Nick and I felt so seen by God and blessed by time with them.

And then today, at @brightcitychurch, the Lord just showed out. Our friend @jburnsi14 led us in a time of healing prayer and I saw countless people bravely ask God for healing - a moment that left most of us in the room with shaking hands and wildly hopeful hearts. People asked for prayer for addiction, cancer, marriages, physical pain, emotional pain - you name it. And I believe our good Father was moved by every request.

We hosted a fall kickoff to get people in groups and serving on teams, and while the barbecue almost ran out - the joy did not.

Not every weekend in the life of a church girl *looks* fruitful. It’s often sweaty. Sometimes the tears aren’t seemingly Spirit-filled, but grief soaked. In doubt and defeat, we can wonder if He is moving or if we’re in the right spot.

But make no mistake, there’s no waste at the altar. He uses the unseen moments, He redeems the heaviest ones. He uses the sweaty serving that no one sees. He lifts the weary heads of His kids who wonder if there’s anything else they could do.

Church gals: I’m proud of you. God is mighty in you. I genuinely can’t believe we get to do this. Let’s keep going. ❤️

I’ve been wanting to sit down and make a SUMMER PLAN! After graduating from seminary and having older kids this year - I keep sensing God wants to give me some fresh vision for this season.

For the past few years I’ve made summer guides for my friends online and I knew I could whip up a little coaching guide for myself, but I decided to just sit with the Lord.

A few days ago I cracked open my friend @jnobles’ 119 Bible Reading Guide based on Psalm 119 and I had the whole plan in a sentence: “seek Him with all my heart summer”.

I’m not sure what the schedule will look like or what my rhythms will be. I don’t have a plan or a guide, but I do have a little margin and Janelle’s book.

And if this is an advertisement for anything, let it be this: I dare you to sit with the Lord for a few minutes and ask, “What do you have for me this summer?”.

He’s a good Father and a good communicator.
And He loves when His daughters seek His face. 🤎
