The Future of Chicago's Dogs starts in Chicago Neighborhoods.

MASH: Chicago is here for exactly that!

MASH brings high volume spay and neuter directly into communities, while helping dogs stay home with the people who love them.

We transform trusted neighborhood spaces into fully functioning temporary surgical centers, complete a minimum of 130 dog surgeries in three days, return consistently, and measure what happens to shelter intake over time.

We’re learning alongside the champions and our dear friends @animalbalance and working with the City of Chicago to create the pathway to make neighborhood based prevention possible, repeatable and measurable.

This is a REVOLUTION.

Dog overpopulation and shelter intake aren’t just Chicago problems. Cities across the country are facing the same challenges.

Chicago has an opportunity to show what happens when a city invests upstream.

Prevention as infrastructure.

This is MASH: Chicago.

Launching Garfield Park: November 2026.

Love our humans. Love our dogs. Love our city.

Jude’s hair grew back and so did his confidence.

This man is a SHOWSTOPPER.

Dreamy. Polite. Ridiculously bright. Tail always wagging. Fully aware that he can negotiate a small piece of your dinner simply by existing near it.

He loves dogs. He loves people. He loves life.

He came to us as a cruelty confiscate. His body healed, his hair returned, and his light never went anywhere.

Dude.

Jude is just the greatest.

Bellington LOVES tennis.

You throw the ball. He gets the ball. He brings it back. And to keep things going, he’ll toss it back to you himself.

Thirty pounds. A year and a half old. Terrier by birth. Ball boy by profession.

He wants walks. Adventures. Playtime. A solid backhand.

And after a long day on the court?

Bellington would very much like to be the little spoon.

Game. Set. Bellington. 🎾

PUPS. HOT DOGS. ART. COMMUNITY.

This is what showing up for Chicago dogs can look like.

A huge thank you to 93XRT, The Wiener’s Circle, Verna Bailey and every human who came out yesterday, brought their dogs, made something, bought something, donated something or simply spent part of their Saturday with MCP.

Custom tees, pet portraits, hot dogs and a whole lot of dogs packed into one afternoon, all with generosity behind it.

We say it all the time: ordinary people are capable of extraordinary things when we do them together. Sometimes that looks like fostering. Sometimes it’s donating. Sometimes it’s opening your business, sharing your audience, making art, or throwing a really great PUP-UP.

Every bit of it gives us more capacity to keep showing up for Chicago dogs and the people who love them.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by people and partners who find their own way to be part of the work.

Thank you for making your circle a little bigger for ours.

Love our humans. Love our dogs. Love our city.

We’re still waiting on DNA results, but preliminary findings suggest Violetta is 40% dog, 40% baby deer, and 20% jazz hands.

She’s one year old, approximately 87% legs, and absolutely delighted to be here.

Dogs are friends. Humans are friends. Walks are incredible. Adventures are incredible. Existing in general, huge fan.

She’d love an active home, some dog friends, a little structure, and humans who believe life is better when everybody comes along.

Violetta has places to go.

Her legs insist.

Sadler is 100 pounds of Cane Corso with the social calendar of a much smaller man.

He loves dogs. He loves adventures. He loves his people. He enters every room like the mayor has arrived and frankly, nobody has challenged the election results.

At two years old, he’s handsome, goofy, loyal, and approximately the size of a studio apartment.

Sadler is looking for a Mastiff savvy home with structure, adventures, and room for one extremely large best friend.

Big dog. Bigger personality. Absolutely no concept of being too much.

Calling all sweethearts to the front row! Lando would love to meet you!

Our dear boy was so scared leaving CACC he had to be rolled out. He has grown out of his scaredy cat pancake phase and it is such a joy to watch him stand up as a confident young man.

Landerson Cooper still has the serious grumpy cat face, but his glow up is grinning and we are more than happy to smile back at him.

It’s cooler by the Lando Lakes!

***.

Today felt like one of those days you want to hold onto.

To our sponsors.
Our beautiful venue.
Our chefs who fed us with so much love.
The friends who gave, carried, cooked, poured, hauled, planned, cleaned and somehow made magic appear.

To the grandma who insisted there would be pound cake and rhubarb dressing made from her own garden, because apparently love has a recipe that's real.

To our people.
Our dogs.
The people who show up consistently.
The people who showed up before any introduction was ever needed.
The new people who walked through the door today and somehow already felt like ours.

This Year of the Horse has brought more movement, growth and unexpected magic than we ever could have imagined, and we’re learning to simply trust where it’s carrying us. Doors have opened. New beginnings have arrived before we were quite ready for them.

Maybe that is the point.

Today reminded us that change can also be immaculate.

It can make room for the right people.
For bigger ideas.
For deeper purpose.
For a community willing to do more than what is expected simply because more is needed.

Ordinary people choosing extraordinary measures for beings who deserve nothing less.

That is MCP.

To every single person who showed up today, and to those who have been showing up long before today: thank you for believing in our dogs, in our work, in one another, and in what comes next.

We are beyond grateful.

Here’s to the people that were, are and will be.
The people who show up.
The people who choose to do the hard things.
To a beautiful, wild continuation of doing the seemingly impossible.

Together, we do and continue to crate opportunities for our Chicago dogs and the people who love them.

Love our humans. Love our dogs. Love our city.

Lunar:
7 month old Australian Shepherd/Husky mix
What he lacks in hearing, he makes up for in getting YOUR attention by wanting to be your adventure sidekick. His good looks and gorgeous blue eyes just pierce through your heart. He is incredibly happy, loving, and playful. If you’re looking for company and playful entertainment, Lunar is your guy! Dog/people/kid friendly. Cat unknown but likely to be a friend.
And this guy can totally rock a bandana!
