I'm JNote and I came to get down! I am internationally known and I'm known to rock the microphone.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Big-band jazz, Colombian and Afro-Cuban funk, chamber jazz, Brass Band Dance Party, Balkan beats, klezmer, cinematic folk with the trippy troubadours from another land and more!

Every show, a journey. Every night, a complete experience.

Tonight, Chris Oatts leads his ten-piece Pretty Big Band through imaginative arrangements—bringing improvisational freedom to jazz standards, the Great American Songbook and pop music from across the decades.

Tomorrow, Orquesta La Desobediente brings Colombian and Afro-Cuban funk , joined by opening vocalist Eddy Muchuli—El Sonero del Pueblo—for a night driven by percussion, rhythm and dance.

October opens with a few distinctly Black Squirrel experiences: Bassist Nicholas Krolak shares his music with Philadelphia audiences only twice a year--exclusively at Black Squirrel Club. This is always a special night with top-tier talent that usually sells out and tickets are low!

Descarga, our monthly Latin jam session, returns October 2, followed October 3 by the remarkable chamber-jazz ensemble Two Wings Two Biscuits—featuring the legendary Diane Monroe on violin with Tony Miceli, Nimrod Speaks, Doug Hirlinger and Tom Kraines.

West Philadelphia Orchestra returns October 8 with its explosive mix of Balkan beats, klezmer, brass-band energy and dance-floor abandon. On October 9, psychedelic folk trio Langan, Frost & Wane celebrate the release of *Tomorrow for a Stone* alongside the Tierney Greene Band and Yuri Gohen.

And that’s only part of what’s ahead. Go to the website and pick a show—or three—and join the family.

Tickets + full calendar through Black Squirrel Club website link in bio.

NOTE:

Our monthly celebration of Brazilian music and culture will move from first Sundays for OCT. and NOV. The next Roda de Samba dates will be 10/11 and 11/15.

🌟 **Artist Spotlight: Steph** 🌟

We’re incredibly proud to have featured the exquisite artist, @jnotemusic , who traveled all the way from New York to grace our stage once again with her original music. 🙌 This was Steph’s second time performing at **Sounds and Spirits**, and she never fails to leave an impression. Her music is not only positive and uplifting, but she also has a remarkable ability to connect with the crowd in a way that few can. 🎶✨

It’s always a pleasure to have her with us, and we can’t wait to see what she brings next! Make sure to follow her and stay tuned for her upcoming performances and releases. 🎤🔥
