MARCHING FOR A WORTHY CAUSE The Jamaica Defence Force joined hundreds of Jamaicans in New Kingston for the Guardian Life/Running Events Blue Run today, 20 September 2026. Led by our Acting Chief of Defence Staff Brigadier O'Neil Bogle, the JDF conquered the 5 km run which aimed to raise awareness, support and funds for Prostate Cancer. Supporting initiatives such as these is a strategic imperative of the JDF as we seek to strengthen the physical fitness levels of our servicemembers while creating opportunities for positive interactions and engagements with our fellow Jamaicans. #BlueRun #Youthandcommunityengagement #ProstateCancerAwareness #Runforthecause Photos by Lance Corporals Anglee Doman and Ramario Thomas Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force

CHARTING THE COURSE, CONQUERING THE TERRAIN The competition is heating up in the Force Orienteering Competition 2026. Following yesterday’s second and third phases of the competition, the Support Brigade are the early leaders with 81 points. The other positions are as follows: 2️⃣Caribbean Military Academy - 77.5 points 3️⃣The Jamaica Regiment - 76 points. 4️⃣The Maritime Air and Cyber Command - 52 points 5️⃣ Jamaica National Reserve - 35.5 points. Land navigation is a core military discipline that is an essential part of military training and ethos that must be mastered by our servicemembers. Orienteering is a distinct form of navigation that requires skills using maps, compasses, and other navigating devices, to effectively move over unfamiliar terrain using grid coordinates. The final phase of the competition commences next week. Here are the highlights of yesterday’s competition. #ForceOrienteering #Landnavigation #IndividualCompetence Photos by Private Neo Harris, Headquarters Jamaica Defence Force
