I just co-hosted my first ever creative retreat!!! 🤩

This past weekend, 13 people came together from different parts of the world to meet in Okinawa, Japan.

I just want to express my gratitude for everyone who took a risk to be there - it takes a lot of bravery and courage to put yourself in unconventional & uncomfortable situations, but each and every person came in with positive intentions. I left feeling more inspired than ever!🫶

If you don’t know me, community building is one of my passions. And this past year, I had to rely on my community more than ever. I want to help connect other creatives around the world and make the world a bit smaller. Thus, one of my goals this year is to build my own global creative community. 🌎

Hi everyone!!!! Big news - @joanneffan and I are officially launching our first community retreat!!! And it’s going to be in Asia! 🤩🛫

If you know either of us, community building is a passion of ours and we’ve talked about doing something like this before in the past - a chance to bring creatives together across the world in an intentional way! We are looking to bring together 10 people who want to form meaningful connections and share their creative passions with one another.

The dates are Thursday, January 29 - Sunday, Feb 1. To make this as accessible as possible, we’re covering the housing.
You just show up and cover your activities + food + logistics. That’s it.

swipe to see one Kiwi, two Canadians and nine Americans all living together in Okinawa, Japan 🍜🍣🇯🇵

Growing up in New Zealand, I loved watching US creators on YouTube (Kelly Wakasa, Elliot Choy, Casey Neistat, David Dobrik, Mark Rober to name a few). So spending four days meeting like minded creators from NYC, LA and Toronto felt surreal. Even though it was only for four days, it genuinely felt like stepping into something I’d once only seen through a screen.

I only started posting online six months ago but to have met so many creators in australia and overseas, I’m glad I took the risk and put myself out there. I’ve learnt to back myself because you never know where it might lead or who you’ll end up meeting.
