52 Women Pulling at The Threads of Social Discourse and a Guest: The Epistle 💌 Dear gentle Instagram viewer, we are one week away from opening our 8th edition of the annual fiber exhibition: Women Pulling at The Threads of Social Discourse. This year we took inspiration from the letters written by women during the American Revolution, both leading up, during, and after and brought their topics to today as a way to check in on each other. 52 women and 1 man created fiber portraits, fiber letters, or both and also hand wrote and mailed a letter to another artist in the exhibition - because the work, the words and the voices should be remembered. 🔔Join us Friday, October 16 from 6-10pm as we celebrate this new edition! #miamigallery #womenpullingatthethreadsofsocialdiscourse #wpattosd #fiberart #exhibitionopening

Joan Wheeler makes bewitching dreamscapes. In Time Like a River, women float at the waterline — neither lost nor saved — surrounded by moths, vines, and a moon that isn't going anywhere. Dream logic. Natural world as witness. In Do You See Me, a needle-felted moth holds court inside a circle of watching eyes. The medium is domestic. The question is not. Two bodies of work, one persistent obsession: what it means to be a woman moving through a world that is always watching, always changing, never waiting. A lovely evening was had by all at our opening reception Thursday night for The Easton School of Artists exhibit featuring the magnificent work of 16 highly talented Easton creators. We’re grateful to Hi Ho Energy and the D’Addario Family for enabling local business Access Transportation to make it easy for guests to hit two shows in one night — ours and the Easton Art Council’s opening of Robert Brennan’s surrealist solo exhibit in the Easton Library community room. Stop in at Greiser’s and the Library during business hours to view both shows and learn a bit about each local artist. Thirteen of the 16 works at Greiser’s are still available for sale. And we plan to keep this show going as long as the artists will let us! As the work sells or needs to move on to other galleries, we will swap in work by additional Easton artists. We’re building a waiting list, so please reach out if you live or work on your art in Easton, and would like to share it with our community (priority given to existing FOGs — Friends of Greiser’s 😊)! We love supporting the arts and artists in our community! As one of them said last night, “You know the best part of this event? The people!” We agree: Artist and art lovers are truly a joy!

TWIST and SHOUT features six artists whose figures bend, twist, and fracture – communicating what words cannot. Rooted in Expressionism, the exhibition moves fluidly between abstraction and figuration, where grotesque caricature and distortion are a visual shorthand for emotion, tension, and identity. As artists – Alex Ceppi, John Guzman, Louisa Pancoast, Melissa Stern, Yue Yuan, and Tamsen Williams – echo the prevailing mood and emotional state of our nation, curator Ellen Hawley helps bring these expressions into a broader conversation. Some works lean into dark humor, while others are raw and gritty, but together they explore movement, resilience and the expressive potential of the human figure.
