We have such a sweet relationship with the Beans. So much life lived in the mountains and Oklahoma with this fam. They convinced us to stay another day and explore Colorado and we were in awe of the Lord’s masterpiece!

Hey Friends!

In 2021 we were nominated for the ‘Boutique Development’ award through the Oklahoma chapter of the Urban Land Institute (@ulioklahoma). Each year, various types of developments focused on placemaking and use of space (among other things) are nominated throughout the world, and for the past eight years, Oklahoma has had its own awards ceremony to highlight and celebrate local endeavors.

Last night was the celebration, and the short story is that we ended up winning the award. Our minds are blown, as It really was an honor to receive this from the Urban Land Institute.

From the beginning, the brewery has been a passionate pursuit of people with an intentional focus on the development of place. Yes, we make beer and we love it, but it’s just a fun byproduct of what has taken shape over the years with relationships in the craft beer community and beyond.

This has extended to South Oklahoma City where both Will and Joe live - who both transplanted from San Diego over a decade ago. When the Wheeler District approached us about opening a brewery, it was the perfect fit. We like to thank the district (@wheelerdistrict) for all of its support over the years. Specifically, Blair Humphreys and Ashley Terry who head up the development team, and were instrumental in making this project happen. There were many others including Sam Day who was the architect on the project, and Franklin Wheeler who was the general contractor, and Jonathan Bean who was a partner in the brewery.

It has definitely been a grind, and painful at times, but the joy that we and others now experience in this place, far out weighs the pain. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and beer glass for all of your love and support over the first year and a half of being open!

A place isn’t a place without people, so this wouldn’t be a place without everyone who visits us - you are just as much a part of this as we are!

Today we are releasing OB SURF TRIP.

OB SURF TRIP is a West Coast IPA clocking in at 7.3% ABV and 74 IBU’s This beer is loaded with hot side hops and a healthy dry hop evoking fond memories of the days of IBU battles. We added a touch of caramel malt, in addition to the Organic pilsner base malt, wishing that time travel would ensue upon touching this drink to your lips.

This beer was inspired by a 2013 trip to Ocean Beach, CA. Two friends embarked on a journey in search of good surf. Memories of cold salt water, California style burritos, a rowdy hostel, Sunset Beach at sunset, and carrying a surfboard down Newport Ave create the canvas on which this beer was painted.

Shorts, Rainbow flip-flops, and a hoodie are preferred attire, but regardless of how you come we have this beer on draft and in cans to go.

Taco Nation will be on location tonight at 5pm slinging up some Cali-inspired grub.

Today we’re releasing SOLSTICE and JAMMED ENTRANCE.

SOLSTICE is a imperial stout made with the finest roasted malts we could find and was fermented cool to keep things smooth. Our friends @preludecoffeeroasters hooked us up with some carefully roasted beans to round this one out.

This has a rich, silky, full body with notes of caramel, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco and toffee.

JAMMED ENTRANCE is a mixed culture saison made with 100% Organic malts - Pilsner, Wheat, and Oat Flakes. After fermentation we used a light hand to add Mulberries we harvested from our yards.

This beer brings us right back to summer with the delicate flavors of watermelon and strawberries.

Both beers are on tap and in growlers to go!
