Just here to share what I’m reading & gush about the books I love. Also, apparently I’m here to do lots of bingos & reading challenges. I’m addicted.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thank you so much to my Birthday Book Club & Bookish Birthday Club girls for all of the books and love that was shared and gifted to me last month. I have loved being spoiled with new books, that will sit on my bookshelf. I cannot wait to start incorporating these books into my (growing) TBR list! 💌 Book Review 💌

The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros
( @rebeccayarros )

Rating: Obsessed
Spice: Open Door
Format: Physical and Audio

✈️ Traveling Book Club: Book Nine
✈️ Month: September
✈️ Book Picked By: @jocey_reads
✈️ Genre: Historical Fiction Romance
✈️ Page Count: 448

This was my first contemporary-style book by Rebecca Yarros, and I was emotionally destroyed in the most beautiful way possible. 🥹

I went in completely blind, not knowing what to expect, and any expectations I may have had based on the hype alone were far exceeded. Two love stories. Two timelines. A family legacy. A WWII romance. An unfinished manuscript. And a story that slowly reveals just how deeply the past can shape the present.

Georgia returns home after a brutal divorce and finds herself tangled up with Noah Harrison, the author brought in to finish her great-grandmother Scarlett’s final manuscript. As Georgia and Noah dig deeper into Scarlett’s story and her wartime love with Jameson, they uncover so many truths about the past and about each other... and OMG, my heart with that ending ...

I even loved how Rebecca threw a pretty solid twist our way, she definitely managed to pull one over on me because I did not see THAT coming.

I immersive read this one, and the audiobook was fantastic! Tim Paige and Carly Robins did such a wonderful job bringing Georgia, Noah, Scarlett, and Jameson to life. Their performances added even more emotion to an already emotional story which made it incredibly easy to get completely lost in the narrative.

This definitely made me want to dive further into Rebecca Yarros’ backlist because I’ll for sure be sitting with a book hangover from this one.

two years ago I was coming out of my grief fog and felt like I needed to rejoin the land of the living. I decided to put my socially anxious and awkward self out there and join bookstagram. since then, I have started two book clubs and joined a third, have gotten to meet three of my favorite authors, hug some of my favorite bookstagramers IRL and be a part of the coziest, absolute best corner of the internet. so thankful for this IG community and the swoony, spicy, unhinged books that brought us together 🤍

Last night I did a little thing... I went to a local book club to chat about Ariel Sullivan's Conform, which you know from past reviews was a favorite of mine and one of my book clubs. If I'm being totally honest, I had been avoiding this book club since it's location changed because in my mind, the setting gave me a bit of an ick. Thankfully, with a little reassurance from the host and one of the members, I went outside of my comfort zone and attended. Filled with amazing conversation, charcuterie boards that looked absolutely amazing and the most refreshing beverage ever. So if last night's adventure taught me nothing else it was to say yes to experiences outside of your comfort zone. You'll be happy you did.

Dropped my pup off at the vet for surgery and came home to a super quiet house. 😔 Figured I’d take advantage by diving into my Traveling Book Club pick for June…The Things We Leave Unfinished by @rebeccayarros and chosen by @jocey_reads. And what goes better with a good book than a chocolatey/peanut buttery sweet treat?
