Achter de schermen bij een van onze recente opnamedagen voor Passie als Kompas. Dit keer vanuit een bijzondere suite van @deleuropeams. Thanks voor de fijne samenwerking! 🙏🏼 Ik sprak met @jonaskooy, de man achter @havermelkelite. Bijzonder om het persoonlijke verhaal achter dit platform vol humor en scherpe observaties te horen. Met @jochemstaat, een snelle, energieke prater én mega inspirerend. Na ruim 20 jaar ondernemerschap moest hij zijn bedrijf loslaten en zichzelf opnieuw uitvinden @andstaat. Mooi hoe juist zo’n ogenschijnlijke tegenslag weer nieuwe energie kan brengen. En met @giseleazad, die online een enorm publiek heeft opgebouwd. Maar achter dat bereik zit ook een indrukwekkend persoonlijk verhaal, waaronder haar vlucht vanuit Iran naar Nederland als vierjarig meisje. Afleveringen 97, 98 en 99. MEET THE CURATOR - JOCHEM LEEGSTRA Jochem Leegstra is creative director and founder of ANDSTAAT and co-initiator of the platform THE NEW STIJL. Working at the intersection of art, design and culture, he develops conceptual and visual projects across both autonomous and institutional contexts. His practice brings together creative direction, cultural research and visual communication, creating connections between different fields and forms of cultural production. For SIGNAL ’26, Jochem contributes both as a curator and through ANDSTAAT as publication partner. His perspective helps shape the selection of makers, while the publication extends the project beyond the three-hour exhibition itself. In the Netherlands, there is a strong art academy system, but the transition from graduation to a professional artistic practice remains difficult. After graduating, young artists often lose the visibility, networks and context that the academy provided. Their work is frequently shown only within individual graduation exhibitions, making it difficult to see and connect the broader generation of emerging artists. SIGNAL ’26 responds to this gap by bringing artists, curators, cultural professionals, press and the public together in one concentrated moment. It helps them move from being graduates to being recognised as professional artists, while creating direct connections with the people and institutions that can support the next stage of their careers. Dankjewel voor het langskomen bij de lancering van In The Practice. Annika (@annikapoutsma) maakte foto's van jullie, met werk van verschillende makers die ook in het tijdschrift te vinden zijn én een paar van de makers zelf. Our very first official @newgymnasium event took place on July 3rd. Seeing our dream come to life, even for just one evening, was incredibly special for us. We’ve received so many happy dm’s and texts after, thanks so much! About a year and a half ago, the four of us started talking about a shared dream: creating a place in Amsterdam where movement, wellness, work, food, and community all come together: A well-designed space where you can spend your day, enjoy high-end facilities, attend events and meet inspiring people. You’re probably thinking: But when!? And where!? Turns out: Building something like this doesn’t happen overnight. But we’re getting closer every week... We’re currently raising the final funds and actively securing the right location in the centre of Amsterdam. Until then, we’re bringing New Gymnasium to life through a series of events. Over the coming months, we’ll host one event for each of our five pillars: Movement, Wellness, Work, Food and Community. ‘Movement’ is already in the making. (September 2026). Het hele seizoen bleef het onder 12 team van Triple ThreaT koploper 🏀. Zondagmiddag werd hun inzet beloond met een prachtige overwinning op een sterk strijdend BS Leiden, en werd kampioen in de onder 12 Eredivisie 🏆. Lees via mijn story een artikel over deze talentvolle beloften 🙌!
