BIFA longlisted feature ‘Departures’ - out at cinemas nationwide NOW! Shot on about every format you can imagine. 35mm // 16mm // Alexa LF // iPhone and FX3. These following frames were all shot with rehoused Canon FD lenses from TLS. During testing we loved the warmer tones, especially on the 35 / 45x and 55. In the flash back scenes we pushed them a little harder to gain some natural softness. Grip provided by @panavisionofficial and lighting by @drop_city_ltd and @knowled_global additional lenses from @media_dog_hire

Can’t believe I almost didn’t post these until 2026… I had an amazing opportunity via Screenskills UK earlier this year to work in Manchester for 6 weeks on the TV Show Break Clause. @joe_sound @ellisaudio @benmcer @drew_illing and Jim, you guys were such amazing humans, I have carried so much on from this job and constantly apply it elsewhere. You guys rock. P.S I still dream about Badabing, I will make my return to Manchester whether it be purely for Badabing or not. 🌯🌯

Not only was this my first long-term permanent Sound Trainee gig, opposed to some other infrequent dailies, it was my first job away from home. Therefore I also gained such valuable insight and experience in working away from home, staying in temporary accommodation, navigating a totally unfamiliar city, and taking care of myself. Not to mention I am now familiar with about half of the local automobile mechanic demographic in Manchester…

Maybe this is actually a fitting closer work-related post to 2025. Hindsight is a great thing, and this was one of my all time experiences of my career nevermind the whole year, and in reflection it has moulded me into someone who now expects a crêpe van on any other production. But in all seriousness, out of all things I’m really grateful for this year and the people I’ve met along the way have been Zenith. Looking forward to 2026 and the people it brings. 💜
