Since AD 122 there has always been a bridge over the Tyne. The bridges connect us and bind us together even when we feel divided.

Lead me home, to the North
To a land that I call mine
Where seven bridges’ arms stretch
The waters of the Tyne

Seven years ago, while working away, Paul wrote the beginnings of a song. Many people expressed an interest in recording it but at the time it never found a home.

Now, 7 years later, through a commission from @creativecentralncl we have embarked on a journey to give the song new life. Drawing together as many local collaborators as possible, in a time of political division and community tension, Seven Bridges is an anthem to the place that we all love and call home.

Come and be a part of it @discovery_mus Sat 9th May (6pm-10:30pm)

Opened in 1983, the Redheugh Bridge is the third crossing on this site, replacing earlier structures to meet increasing traffic demands across the Tyne. Built primarily from concrete & steel, it was designed for heavy vehicle use, providing a direct and efficient route between Newcastle & Gateshead.

songs for sunday experiment 001 // no other name // 050426 // eastersunday2026

I have watched this clip a million times
it’s still very surreal hearing nearly 2000 people sing the name of Jesus in a theatre
very grateful that I get to be a part of something so special and beautiful and God-breathed
