Had a great opportunity to set @madvolumehull for its reopening, thanks to an amazing team we set the whole centre with absolute bangers.

Great shots from @potter_irwin

Mad Volume Presents: MVP

The Setters 🛠️

Scroll to find out more about our amazing setting team for Mad Volume Presents: MVP, this Saturday 8th August. Reserve yourself a space now, link in bio 🔗

Max Ayrton

Probably the best setter operating in the UK right now, IFSC World Cup route setter and hold shaper 👷

Somehow we've managed to lock Max down for a very rare UK appearance 🔥

📸@iainclimbs

Alice Thompson

Hot on Max’s heels for the title, Alice has set at prestige events such as the British Bouldering Champs and the last ever CWIF 🤯

Alice combines her experience as a boulderer, route climber and big wall adventurer with years as a competition climber and route setter 🏎️

📸@iainclimbs

Will Jackson

The only setter in London worth talking about. Chief at Mile End, Will has the kind of setting CV we all dream about

Will has refined his craft as the head of route setting at the most experimental climbing centre in the UK (until now 😉). We're expecting some truly special boulders from him 🎡

📸@claudia__84

Frankie York

Not a setter, barely a climber. Somehow good enough at setting to make the rest of us green with envy 🐸

Dusting off her drills 🔩 Frankie will be bringing us some big, bold climbs and her trademark style 🥳

Bailey & Joe

The Minions to Alice’s Gru, these two get the job done (eventually) 👯‍♂️

The less said about these two, the better. But they do set EXTREMELY GOOD BOULDERS. The best boulders. Nobody knows boulders as much as these two 🎃

Bex

The glue holding the team together. Chief jet washer, professional route setter, part time tagger 🚿

No Bex, no MVP. It's just that simple 🫯

Baileys BACK

The back of the isle has been set, it’s Tuesday you know what that means.

Come down to tonight’s social night to see what the setters have left for you.

What did you think of it?

Not been climbing hard in a while as I'm currently recovering from a lumbrical injury, but was happy with a quick send of this techy, flowy 6 on the new under mezz slab set @substation.macclesfield done by @joefoster59 and @aliice_th

I do love these slopey blue holds 🤤

It’s what you’ve all been waiting for, ROOFUS!

@aliice_th, @joefoster59 and @gavrilcrypto putting in the grind on this sweaty beast.

Come and check out the new set, bring plenty of chalk and possibly a towel

It’s a steep one so bring those biceps.

CAVE COMPLETE 🫟

Finally! All 6s on the cave set complete, this took way longer than it should have, I blame the sunshine.

Love the @smash_it_holds great setting once again @joefoster59 and @jmhiskett

Another of the super tough 6s ticked off on the corker of a cave set @substation.macclesfield by @joefoster59 and @jmhiskett

How I managed to match that sloper with not much skin end of session and it being mega hot, I don't know! 🥵
