There’s something special about welcoming guest speakers into school and giving our pupils the chance to hear from people who have been in their shoes and are now thriving in the working world. But it’s even more special when that guest speaker is a former pupil 💚

This week, we were delighted to welcome back Joel Robertson (2007-2016), fresh from being recognised in the @forbesunder30 for his work in the entertainment industry.

Joel met with our S2 pupils, who are beginning to think about their subject choices and what the future might hold. His message was simple but inspiring: if you have the passion, there are countless ways to turn it into a career.

Huge congratulations to BIMM graduate Joel Robertson, who has been named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2026 list for Entertainment.

Since studying at BIMM, Joel has built an impressive career across the music industry, including roles at Universal Music Group and The Influence Room, before joining Muse Group, where he now works as Growth Partner across the Hal Leonard business.

Alongside that, he also runs his own label, Robertson Records, continuing to work as an artist, composer and entrepreneur.

A brilliant achievement, and a great example of where a career in music can take you.

Congrats @joelrxbertson

Joel travelled over 2 hours to get his hair done because he couldn’t trust anyone else to do his colouring. Over 6 years of loyalty and we keep delivering the same timeless quality. Check out his transformation.
