Painting 5/30

Loving this view of the Statue of Liberty and loving trying to put myself in the shoes of the friends sitting in the grass looking out on the water.

Painting 6 is up next, what should I create next?

Harvest changes the rhythm of Calistoga.

Mornings begin with vineyard views from your terrace, and golden afternoons invite you to stay a little longer by the pool. Walk among our organic Cabernet vines, taste the wines at Elusa Winery, or spend an afternoon at Spa Talisa before settling in for dinner at Michelin-starred Auro. As the evening cools, we’ll save you a seat by the fire.

We look forward to sharing our favorite season with you.

We’re honored to be named the Best Wine Hotel of 2026 by @thezoereport readers. From morning light on the vines outside your terrace to tastings at our on-site winery, readers celebrated the vineyard experiences and thoughtful, personal service that make a stay here in Calistoga special.

To everyone who voted, thank you. It’s a privilege to share this corner of Napa Valley with you.

Art Deco. Organized Drama.

Art Deco has been my recent fascination which I had to post about when I was deep in it. It holds something different about Art, well Art itself I believe is an expression of the different. Going from Art Nouveau, Art Deco is all about making machines and the man-made industrial glamorous which is what gives it depth. The patterns, clear cut shapes, bold mysterious colors leaning into the spotlight; through glass or staircases, integrating Interior Design.

It just transforms the space as it introduces multiple bold elements together that is inescapable to the eye. Interestingly, velvet as a texture seems to be the statement. While all these elements are combined, the tone is evened out, set against a neutral background. I do think Art Deco is one that stimulates the human mind.

What would you say?
