well, it’s not officially a year yet but this has been a very necessary reflective activity for my sanity. A year of connecting to the land and its people and the versions of me that have walked here and are about to emerge.

looking back at the past year, which omg how even has it been a year!!!!, i have done so so much and met joy, grief, gratitude and absolute awe.

Thank you to everyone who helped me settle in, new or old, to everyone who called from afar or came to visit, and above all to Allah for all the lessons and for easing my heart every single day as I throw away everything I once knew, my identity, my ego and to embrace an unknown chapter.

I could not, for the life of me, have imagined this life a year ago. A life of sobriety, art, spirituality, kindness and beauty.

Thrilled to announce that our film (Diary) will premiere on @nowness this Friday and will be screened at the @icalondon on Saturday as part of the 25 Years of @fashion_east celebration, hosted by @dazed and curated by my wonderful team at @nowness.

The film is a moving-image response to @jacek_gleba’s brilliant graduate collection, and a tribute to queer dance spaces and the longing for connection. (Diary) will feature @joewintermusic’s new song “it’s true”. Huge thanks to the incredible team who made this possible, and to @kitty_metcalfe for such an honour.
