The Winter issue of BeLocal Frederick is here, featuring a breathtaking cover by local physician, athlete, and photographer John DiGiovanni.

John shares, “One of the things I love about photography is its power to start conversation, spark emotion, tell a story, and capture a moment in time.” His image beautifully captures the warm light and rich color that make our area so special this season.

Breakfast with the fam and then a trip up to the outlook at Keller Peak. Something tells me it wasn’t officially open yet. We drove as far as the rental could take us and then hiked the rest. Really need to remember a hat and sunblock. 7800’ elevation and it doesn’t take much to burn.

The last few days were epic. Much needed family time. I just love being an uncle. Greatest job ever! Thanks @jjdigiovanni @akrawchuk @kara_digi @archraider Spent time in MD, DC and Seattle. Got to visit my cousin Martha Gills @blarneystonefirstave pub right across from Pike place market, hang out at @rumbaseattle for their 10 year anniversary party because my cousin @dshazier manages the joint. If you’re ever in Seattle check it out. Beautiful bar and restaurant. Thanks for hosting me @nmirk. Now back in socal and dreaming of the Pacific NW. Pretty sure that’s Mt St Helen’s 🌋 Until next time. Keep eating your spaghetti!
