I styled this video twenty five years ago, and it’s still close to my heart.

This remains one of my top 5!

“Soul Sister” by @bilalmusic featuring @questlove, directed by @nzingbling produced by @john_winter.
One of those moments you don’t yet realize will shape you.
Story Tilllime...

My dear late friend, Damu Mtume, whose memory I will forever cherish, called me with excitement in his voice. “April we need You”
We got this Philly artist, Just signed to Interscope.
I knew it was something special.
I didn’t hesitate! YES, always yes.
At the time, the world wasn’t sure how to receive Bilal.
But he stayed true.
Did the work.
Built the audience.
Let the music lead.
What we created together became part of my foundation.
Not just projects, but belief, trust, and alignment.
Seeing him now, decades later, standing beside @mslaurynhill honoring D’Angelo on the Grammy Awards stage As a 2026 Grammy Nominee was a reminder that truth takes time, and real artistry always finds its moment.
So Proud Of You Bilal!
Earned • Rooted • Fully In His Power •
Unmistakably his moment.
Philly Family Forever. 🖤🎶🎤

"I thrive in fast-paced projects—unrealistic timelines, interesting personalities, stay on budget but squeeze in more stuff, crack up the team, solve a few problems, and try to look chill. If I'm by the monitors with the creative team, it means I've hired the right people and prepared enough. Now I keep a close eye, give feedback, smile and clench my teeth as I await the next pivot."

Some words for @clioawards X @saucony at @disney studios.

Grateful to join @michaeljoel @john__winter & @nessafraser in a discussion on fueling the creator mindset.

In most of what I do creatively - I rely on foundations I built as an athlete. Often these worlds are separated.

This was a dope chance to bridge some of the overlap between them.
