a few weeks home and still my heart lingers here

leaving Kenya after 7 weeks was harder than I expected.
saying goodbye to people who had become so dear to me felt like leaving pieces of my heart behind.

the cost of loving deeply, like Jesus did. you feel and care deeply and sometimes you hurt deeply. but maybe that’s also the gift. to experience the beauty of loving someone or something with your whole heart.

this experience stretched me humbled me and reminded me every single day of God’s faithfulness. God taught me the beauty of simply being present.

so many beautiful moments where the love of God felt so tangible, it was impossible not to be moved. His presence, His Hand, His mercy… in everything. Thank you, Lord.

What a privilege to love this place with my whole heart and to be loved so well. Until next time.

Last week we wrapped up the interns’ time in Kenya with a great week out at the coast! We visited the camp, learned a lot about MOHI’s rural schools, had some fun in the Indian Ocean and helped the interns process what God has been teaching them the last 7 weeks. Watch out world, these 7 young adults have learned so much about service, having bold faith, adapting to different cultures and creating Christian communities wherever God sends them! We can’t wait to see how God uses them to bring heaven to earth and transform the lives of others!

I’m constantly in awe of God’s faithfulness and the joy He’s brought through the people I’ve met, the relationships He’s grown, and the countless everyday moments that have pointed me back to Him.

Jesus, You’re beautiful.

Meet our new interns! These 7 college students have raised funds to spend their summer serving @mohiafrica.

After each week being embedded with different Kenyan staff they come to our house each Friday night to relax, eat American style food and sit around the campfire to process culture and what God is teaching them through all of this. This Friday’s (breakfast for) dinner meant so much after a week of Kenyan food that they got out their phones to document the homemade biscuits and gravy, breakfast casserole and coffee cake!

This is our 5th year coaching interns through @cmfmissions REACH internship program. These are our 41st-47th interns!

While they don’t live or work with us during the week, we are constantly looking out for their transportation, local arrangements, health and fitting into MOHI and Kenyan cultures. God will do BIG things through and in these interns through their sacrifices to serve the people of Kenya!
