As usual I went to a harp event and it never once occurred to me to take a photo. I was enjoying it too much to be honest. But thankfully @johnbeasley.ie was on hand to provide evidence of my presence and that's the back of my big head enjoying @aislingurwin_harp transfix the entire room with her playing. Fantastic concert and harp day organised by @sweeneydamhnait and @oisin.morrison. The place was packed, a testament to their hard work and the level of skill from all the performers.

This week I celebrated my birthday!!!! and anyone who knows me knows I bloody LOVE my birthday. But this year was truly the best one I’ve ever had.
🎉
We’re taught to fear ageing, especially as women. To fear our looks “fading” our bodies changing, no longer being desired by men, etc etc.
🥱
We’re told that no one wants to hear what we have to say, that our ideas aren’t important, that we’re basically on the way to being irrelevant.
🤷🏽‍♀️
What they don’t tell you is how quickly you stop caring about outside judgement. How quickly you realise that “failing” isn’t actually that much of a big a deal. How the realisation that time is ticking can be like a fire that spurs you on!
They don’t tell you about the incredible freedom that comes when you stop giving a feck about all the things you wasted years worrying about. They don’t tell you that ageing is a gift of liberation.
🕊️
This year has been the year I finally created so many of the things I’d spent years imagining and dreaming about, but never felt like I could actually do. All of the things that”mad” things I had put aside for so many years. And the illumination of the horrifying political backdrop has made me realise even more strongly that if I have something I want to contribute to this world, I better speak the feck up now. There is literally no point in staying silent.
📣
So, if you’re reading this and you have ideas, dreams or things you’ve been putting off because you think you’re too old or you’ve missed your chance HEAR ME when I say YOU HAVEN’T!!!
I’ve felt (and been told)that I was too old for this world since I was in my twenties!
👵🏾
I never was. I’m still not.
And neither are you.
🎉🍾🥳🎈🎁

We were glad to catch the beautiful exhibition by @johnbeasley.ie in Bandon Library.

Lovely large scale works with incredible definition - and so nice to delve into Odyssey by Stephen Fry, so thoughtfully provided. It really added another dimension. ♒️

✨Rise & Run Turns 1✨

Last Saturday we celebrated our very FIRST BIRTHDAY! Can you believe that? 👀🎉

One year ago we were just 2 girls in a coffee shop talking about running, and now, a year later we’re 2 girls who have a run club?! AND PEOPLE ACTUALLY SHOW UP! 🙈🤣
In the last year we’ve had people who were already runners join us to find like minded people, we’ve had people who started with the intentions of just walking to support us to end up actually running AND enjoying it (Shocker! 😲) and we’ve had people who have signed up for their first race because of it all!!!

To everyone who’s followed us and watched us grow over the last year, thank you! 💛

To everyone who’s come and joined us, thank you 💛

To all the coffee docks, cafes and coffee trucks who welcomed us, thank you! 💛

To the brands and company’s who donated prizes, came to events etc, thank you 💛

And to the members that have made Rise & Run more than just a run club… we will never be able to thank you guys enough for all of your support over the last year! Without you guys showing up EVERY week, we wouldn’t have Rise & Run! 🙌💛

And of course our sponsors for our birthday,
@bailiunabanndan
@john.buckley.sports
@asicsrunning
@gggactivewear
@luxcoffee.ie
@gymjunkiezsuperfoods
@balbru_drivethrucoffee
@nolansportstherapist
@brew_olearys
Thank you allllll for supporting us last Saturday, between prizes, and runners and clothing everyone was over the moon to have you all there! 🔥

And can we please take a minute to appreciate these photos?! They are AMAZING!!!! So thank you @johnbeasley.ie 🙌

Here’s to another year 🎉

Behind every wedding at Dunmore House is a team who knows every detail by heart, because they have lived it. This one was extra special ❤️

The same hands that set the tables, pressed the linens, and poured the champagne were also the ones raising a glass for Ciara and Daniel’s Wedding. When the family you work with becomes the family you celebrate with.

A special peek behind the scenes at a wedding at Dunmore House!
