Production Designer Feature Film

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’m very excited to be a part of this panel discussion happening on Friday at the @lightboxexpo in Pasadena! The design team on this film was incredible and the early design phase was a unique experience I’ll cherish forever.

John Burton will be leading a very special discussion with tons of visuals, so if you happen to be at Lightbox this week, I hope to see you there!

Robert Pollard - Moon [Live] //
Released 10th October 2006 (Merge Records) //

This CD-only release was included with initial copies of the Normal Happiness LP and mostly features songs from the albums From A Compound Eye and Normal Happiness.

It was recorded in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati when Bob was supporting Pearl Jam on tour (by Eddie Vedder’s personal request).

Bob’s excellent backing band, The Ascended Masters, were pretty much an all-star indie-rock line-up, including the much missed Tommy Keene and Dave Phillips on guitars, Jason Narducy on bass and Jon Wurster on drums.

There are some great videos on YouTube of this line-up.
It you look those up, make sure you also find the one of Bob joining Pearl Jam for a cover of The Who’s Baba O’Riley.

The front cover of the CD was taken by Rich Turiel during the tour.
The back cover is from a billboard in Liverpool.
Back in 2006, Glasgow-born, Liverpool-based artist Alan Dunn was given the task of inviting artists to make billboard designs in the city. He approached Bob with the idea of using his collage titled Normals In Tight West from EAT issue II. After a mock-up was sent to Bob for his approval, the collage ended up being proudly displayed on a Liverpool billboard in August 2006 (see the last slide).

Day 23 #stradeasel

I had a tricky morning with my children
Day off from gardening
Thought about a still life
Thought about the endless job list and chores
Sun was shining for Autumn Equinox
Thought how I used to always paint on the cliffs
When times were easier
Drove
To the cliffs
To the sea
Wide Horizons
Peace
Space
Freedom
Painted
Sold my painting
Feeling grateful and happy and relieved

Braved it and signed up for my first ever dance competition! I line danced an intermediate co-ed category for the pre-lims and enjoyed every second of it.

Thank you @nashvilledancefest and to my friends and family for the support. This definitely is not the last time I will be competing!

Your next favorite painting lesson might come from an artist you haven’t discovered yet!

That’s why we love bringing so many different artists together for Gouache Live.

You’ll get to see different styles, subjects, techniques, and approaches and watch how each artist makes the medium their own.
