How do you write a love letter to a franchise expressing your gratitude when they literally changed the trajectory of your life? Dear @connecticutsun, thank you for taking me in almost a decade ago, welcoming me as family. You were the first @wnba team to bet on me with a mic. You were so generous with allowing me the access to cover the beat to my fullest potential as a writer as well. Your fans always welcomed me with open arms, no matter how long of an absence I had. Your staff was always accommodating and felt like my fam for real. And the athletes who put on in Mohegan, night after night…mannnn listen. I’ll miss you, Connecticut. I’ll miss the roadtrips with @elindsay08 . I’ll miss the frantic standup setups (lol @robynmillstein). I’ll miss the memories in the hallway when we had just a dollar and a dream @lwproductionsllc. I’ll miss the random cut up sessions with @sheknowssports_ and how we represented on press row. I’ll miss @michyvaughnbailey and our little plots to dance again at any chance we’ll get. I’ll miss @allieemmm being so close. I’ll miss @directorkp_ directing random music videos. I’ll miss @brendan_glasheen @_meghanmckeown @e_dona on broadcast. I’ll miss blaze and his determination of half court shots. I’ll miss telling @jenna_lemoncelli every chance I get that she’s a LEGENDARY Sun emcee and the random moments I can pop in on her. I can’t type anymore cuz I’ll weep again. It’s so hard to say goodbye to yesterday. Thank you, Connecticut. The sun has set. 📸 @dianashotit @johnellpannell

I never imagined I’d work full-time in game presentation, but my time with the Connecticut Sun became one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

I went from Dance Team Director to Game Presentation Manager to Game Director, creating moments for the best fans in the WNBA. Somewhere along the way, I became a mom, too. It’s hard to put into words how much life happened during this chapter.

To my dance team girls: you were where this journey began, and you’ll always be so special to me. 💛

As the organization moves to Houston, I’m sending them all my love. Thank you to the mentors who gave me a chance to grow beyond dance, and to everyone who made this chapter unforgettable. ☀️

Where do I even start Five years ago, I was fresh out of college with no real direction and no clear goals, and somehow, I landed here in Uncasville, Connecticut.

First, I have to say thank you to the organization that took a chance on me. The organization that gave me the opportunity to grow, make mistakes, learn, and believe in more than I believed in myself. You took a chance on a kid fresh out of college who knew nothing about the W or the organization, and you welcomed me with open arms.

To my team, past and present, thank you. Thank you for having faith in my ideas, as wild as they may have been, for taking the time to work with me, and for constantly pushing me to be better. The arguments, the long nights, the tears. Without you, I wouldn’t have made it this far. You’ve become so much more than coworkers. In my eyes, we’re forever family.

And to the fans, you’ve made this experience even more special. The messages, the conversations, and the moments when you’ve told me how much my work has impacted you and how much it means to you. I’m forever thankful for all of it.

The Sun is such a special place. It’s where coworkers become friends, and friends become family. Where communities are built on and off the court.

Five years, countless memories, and somehow, 20 photos still aren’t enough. The impact will always be bigger then basketball. ☀️ #GoSun

Today marks the end of a chapter I wish I could relive a thousand times over.🧡

How lucky was I to have started my dream job right here in Connecticut with the @connecticutsun . To have been chosen to be a part of something so special, to do what I love every day, and to cross paths with some of the most incredible people along the way. The friendships, the laughter, the long days, and all the little moments in between are what I’ll cherish the most. I came here to chase a dream, and somehow, I found so much more.

My journey with the Sun started with three people who believed in me before I even knew what was possible for myself. @_flybg4, @keithporter_8, and @faleciaporter, thank you for pushing me to apply, for seeing the potential I had in the social media world, and for believing in the impact I could make. You saw something in me, and because of you, I took a chance on a dream that changed my life forever.

And to @allieemmm , thank you for getting me and Biko tickets to our very first Sun game. Little did we know that one night would turn us into forever Sun fans and eventually lead me to a place I would be lucky enough to call home.

More than anything, I hope my journey reminds young girls, especially those who come from backgrounds like mine, that their dreams are worth chasing. That no matter where you come from, what you’ve been through, or how far away those dreams may seem, there is a place for you in rooms you once only imagined being in.

As we take the court one last time tonight, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to have been a small part of this story. I’ll forever be thankful for the people who made Connecticut feel like home and for the little girl in me who never stopped dreaming.
