Members of Felt reunited for the first time in 37 years and I somehow got to be a part of it

Last night was a night that I will never forget… I got to sing with original members of Felt. Performing Primitive Painters was truly everything and more, a song that has held my soul for many years

I was holding back tears of joy as well as reflection. Growing up my dad adored Felt and always played me their songs, they are a big reason why I subconsciously started creating dream pop music

As Stuart Murdoch said on stage, we were both embodying our heroes yesterday, some moments feel too special to put into words.

Thank you for letting me be a part of something I’ve loved for so long 𑣲 ⭒ 𑣲

As if GGP25 isn’t keeping us busy enough, we’ve got a few shows lined up for the fall as well! First up, we’re absolutely buzzing to announce a rare performance from National Park with GGP faves Jetstream Pony at The Old Hairdresser’s on 11th October.

National Park’s music has been described as having some similarities to The Velvet Underground, Galaxie 500 and Yo La Tengo “without sounding like anything else” (Byron Coley, The Wire). On their last release, they describe themselves as occupying the space between the visceral and the whistleable.

Formed in 1997, National Park gigs have been sparse since the early 2000s, with just occasional releases and one-off gigs. With John playing in the Pastels through the 2010s, Simon with Trembling Bells, Youth of America and now, Dragged Up, they’ve started finding time for a rare National Park show now and again. After a couple of shows with Gerard Love last year, this will be one of the few chances to see them this year.

Support comes from the supergroup combo, Jetstream Pony, heading north for their third show under the GGP banner. Featuring members of The Wedding Present and Aberdeen, their blend of shoegaze simmer and C86 sparkle is perfect for those who love their indie pop with grit, heart and a touch of swoon. 😍

We are once again proud to bring such a splendid lineup to our town! Tickets on sale Friday at 10am! 🤸🏻

“This Is Memorial Device” made it to Phoenix without melting today! I think this may be my first @awri6ht and @pastelsthe signed merch after 35+ years of Pastelism fandom.

The first new National Park release in an age arrived this morning and is getting its first spin ~ it is, of course beautiful ~ looking forward to more, although five or six releases in 27 years so I'm not holding my breath!

We’re so thankful to Gerard Love for getting National Park back on stage after 16 years when they supported him last year at Stereo. It was a beautiful reawakening for a band whose quietly transcendent soundscapes have echoed through Glagow’s indie landscape for more than two decades. 😌

Since last year’s show, they’ve made a small handful of appearances and we’re thrilled to host one of them. It’s also their last one of the year and there will be merch. 🙌

Join us this Saturday at @theoldhairdressers for the first of our one-two-three punch of autumnal shows. And what a stunner! Less than 10 tickets left. Don’t sleep!
