And as the heat of summer starts to slowly slip away, we are also going to be saying goodbye to our fabulous Summer Exhibition which has brought a pop of colour into our upstairs gallery. You still have a few more days to see this exhibition until our new Winter collection will feature with some new designers taking part.

One year on. New England House, with security seals in place. An eight-floor rainbow layer cake of creative people, creative businesses, creative creatives creating - now scattered across the city like ** add your own metaphor here **

Never evicted, only decanted.

I miss the rainbows, and the end of corridor treasure section.
The view is still there… although no one is allowed to see it.

What a special weekend back in manchester for @manchesterjewelleryweek meeting lots of artists talking lots of jewellery.

Had the amazing opportunity to build a new collection entitled ‘the plume of a brave women’ which exhibited in a couple exhibitions over the week. A necklace is still exhibiting in The City of Suffragettes @acj.org.uk exhibition in the craft centre until the end of December. If you find yourself in the city Please do take a look.

A huge thank you to everyone who made it in support of me and all the fellow jewellers exhibiting across the city!

And of course a special congratulations and thanks to @redmondevejewellery and @jojolavelle for making everything possible alongside the committee team @markmcleishstudio @ohanasarah @sadieblythindesignermaker and @staceylhill

Manchester Jewellery Week might officially be over… but we’re not quite finished yet!

‘I wanna be adorned’ in Divinity Studio Gallery as part of Manchester Jewellery Week! Lots of fabulous pieces!

Last day of Manchester Jewellery Week today and I am in the studio if anyone wants to pop in to see this exhibition alongside my City of Suffragettes Makers & Invited Makers Trail. I also have the MMU Graduate Showcases of @astriddavisstudio and @nathan.gallimore_jewellery

Here we have three pieces by @johnmoorestudio from the Dash collection. We love the fact that the colours are as good on the back of the pieces as the front. The fittings on all of the work is elegant making the pieces very easy to wear.
The first piece shown is a brooch, the second can be worn as a necklace or brooch, the third earrings.
We have lots more pieces in the gallery with many featured on our website so visit us online or in person at our gallery on the Barbican in Plymouth.

John Moore

Influential sculptural jewellery designer and utterly lovely person @johnmoorestudio in my studio modelling his own amazing work and exploring the relationship between material, movement and the body.

I wanted to keep the image stripped back and let the piece do the talking: its shape, texture and presence against the simplicity of the human form.

There’s something particularly interesting about photographing a designer wearing their own work. The object becomes more than jewellery; it becomes part of the person and the way they inhabit the image.
