Steamboat Springs is famous for skiing, hot springs, and its charming mountain-town atmosphere—but we didn't come here for any of those things! Instead, some of our favorite moments were much simpler. We reconnected with our YouTube van life friend, @johnnytrekker_ (and his little buddy, Wyatt) who we had camped and cooked with in our previous episode, and spent a couple days together at his campsite at Dry Lake Campground near Buffalo Pass. We cooked meals, shared good food and conversation, and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings right outside our van doors. Our latest episode was less about the famous attractions and a lot more about the things we love most about traveling this way—good friends, nature, free camping, van life cooking, and enjoying the simple moments along the way. 📺 Join us for the adventure in our latest YouTube video (via 🔗 in bio) 📍 Dry Lake Campground is a peaceful Forest Service campground tucked into the mountains along Buffalo Pass Road, about eight miles northeast of Steamboat Springs. At an elevation of roughly 8,300 feet, the campground is surrounded by aspen, spruce, and fir trees and provides a beautiful setting for enjoying the mountain scenery. With hiking and biking trails nearby, including access to the extensive Buffalo Pass trail system, it makes a convenient base for exploring the area. For us, it was the peaceful setting and the opportunity to spend time with a friend, cook together, and simply enjoy being outside that made Dry Lake such a memorable place to stay. 🚐 Follow us for full-time #vanlife, #cheaptravel, nature, wildlife sightings, and some humor! In 2020, we bought an empty 2019 Ford Transit cargo van and spent the next 2.5 years working to convert the van into a tiny home on wheels while also traveling whenever we could. In 2023, we sold our home and went full time! We've been sharing our experience as we travel the country on a low budget with our cat Lady Gray Gray Gillespie Pinkerton. Fantastic company, delicious food, amazing views, and moose sightings! We were so glad to meet up with our friend @johnnytrekker_ (Johnny Trekker on YouTube) and enjoy hanging out at our dispersed camping spot in the Snowies with him for a few days. It's always nice to share meals with friends (especially when Johnny is cooking). Steve also made some pretty mean burgers and onion rings one night. Johnny says the onion rings are good moose attractant. 😂 We're not sold on that theory yet but we did see several moose while there! (The photos aren't the best since they are screenshots from the video we captured.) We are so glad Johnny gave us the idea to detour to this area. It was awesome! 📺 See more of this adventure and the beautiful Snowy Range in our latest YouTube video (via link in bio) 🚐 Follow us for full-time #vanlife, #cheaptravel, nature, wildlife sightings, and some humor! We explored the Grand Teton Loop and @JohnnyTrekker took an AWESOME picture of us crossing the Jackson dam. Grand Tetons in the background- thundering water in the foreground makes the NOMAD look minuscule. #adventurevan #grandteton #adventureoverland

Our winter in Florida was weirdly busy this year. We did a lot of sitting in front of our computers (sometimes in a scenic spot, most times not), traveled north for time with family, had a blast at the van life gatherings, got to enjoy seeing a little bit of our favorite Florida scenery and wildlife, and were glad for friends and family we were able to spend time with. Random highlights: ✔ Our favorite work spot ✔ Finally met our friend, @johnnytrekker_ (check him out on YouTube) ✔ Meeting up with other van life friends (real friends give a boost in life when you need it!😆) ✔ New dishes and other things for our home on wheels ✔ Thank you to Cracker Barrel for many overnights with some good eats (and thanks to those of you who have given us Cracker Barrel gift cards!) ✔ Some beautiful beach views and sunsets 🚐 Follow us for low budget #vanlife, #cheaptravel, nature, wildlife sightings, and some humor! The highlight of Joy’s weekend was a new camping video from Wyatt and @johnnytrekker_. I’ve never seen a dog that watches this much TV…

Popped up in my memories from 6 years ago. My friend, Johnny, came to visit me in Utah whilst on an epic road trip. I was not in a good place at the time and needed every bit of hope the universe would offer. Though the cactus he gave me has moved on (I’m pretty sure I overwatered it, in my attempt to love it), I still have his note and anyone could benefit from reading it. So here! Have some inspiration and know that if you’re going through some sh*t, you may not even be able to fathom all the goodness that’s still to come. 🖤 Love you, Johnny! #keepgoing #beacactus
