This time last year was my first mitt session with @jojoknockout - which is wild to think about how fast it’s gone by, but I’m also reflecting on how proud I am of all the progress made so far! 🥹

I could say “I have no idea how I got into boxing,” but that wouldn’t be entirely true. A year ago, I was really struggling with my confidence and feeling present in my own life. I felt disconnected from myself, my relationships and my health. As I passed @immortalsboxing everyday on my commute through Pasadena, I figured “why the hell not try one of the most intimidating sports” and see how it goes. I took my intro class with @coach_jaketheimmortal, and ultimately caught “the bug.”

Never in my life would I have thought this sport would bring me so much peace, focus, strength and overall happiness, along with the absolute best community of people. There’s something really cool about letting yourself be a beginner again, learning alongside so many badass women, and hearing from people who’ve followed along my recent hobby (obsession) and now want to give boxing a shot themselves.

So this is your sign to take that class that might scare the f*ck out of you, because there’s a very possible chance it will change your life. Shoutout to my @immortalsboxing and @lafightclub crew for making me better every session. Y’all are absolute animals and some of my favorite people. 🖤👊🏼

I struggled putting my thoughts together toward this event. But here’s my attempt to pour our my 🖤

Boxing isn’t just a sport to me💉it’s a lifeline, a poem in motion. A place where inquisitive spirit is forever quenched 💦

As a therapist, mom, wife, and seeker of clarity, the boxing gym has been my sanctuary. Shout out to @coachjuan_sc

Last Saturday at the Session 001 @boxrawwomen put together such a powerful event. I stood alongside 40 fierce women from around the world, guided by world-class coaches.

Every punch reminded me that healing has been a fight. The sport of Boxing has helped me balance postpartum struggles, Sobriety, anxiety, ADHD, and the demands of serving others. It’s where I focus, where I feel, and where I find purpose. The fight for healing continues, and I’m stepping into the ring every day, body, mind, and soul.
