Friends, Sunday is almost here and we want to make sure you are coming.

Our 1st Anniversary Community Celebration is this Sunday, September 27th from 12 to 5 PM — and it is completely free to attend.

Grab your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for a free backyard concert with the wonderful Jon Torrence. Enjoy food from our favorite local food trucks. Browse a handful of vendors who have been by our side since the very beginning of this journey. And for a suggested donation of $5 per person, step inside for a guided tour of our beautifully preserved 177 year old first floor.

This afternoon is our thank you to a community that showed up for us from day one. We cannot wait to celebrate with you.

Sunday, September 27th | 12–5 PM
710 W Chicago Blvd, Tecumseh, MI

See you Sunday!

It was great as long as I played everything in B flat-ish 🤷🏽‍♂️
I’ve played on some pretty interesting vibes coming up.
No pedals
Mossing felt on the muffling bar
Missing pedal attachment
A xylophone 🤦🏽‍♂️
A Vibraphone patch on a $100 Casio keyboard

These are just opportunities to build the muscle of resilience. Even though it had been a while, by the time I was in an international tour and the stakes were high in the above video, the “just-roll-with-it” muscle kicked in and it was just another adventure, another great story to share! (Honestly it may have even improved some of my lines 😅)

My advice: on tour, request and hope for the best but always be down for the challenge and adventure of lifting up the show regardless of what you get.

Who else has backline horror stories!

In 2011 we moved into our first home and I got to build out what would be my studio for the next 10 years. It was a really cool bonus space above the garage and we also built out a guest suite with a small full bathroom and private entrance. It was here that we made the most memories to date and the most records. It was an unreal season of music and community and I think about it often. What a blessing it was to have a space downtown like this and a beautiful home to build our family in. #producer #recordingstudio #indie #studio #mixing
