In the exhibition Coup de Théâtre. A Play of Clay, Abby spotlights the theatrical character of ceramics through exceptional historical and contemporary pieces.

From imposing table centrepieces to hyper-stylised vases, from pot-bellied jugs to delicate genre scenes, from stunning trompe-l’œils to grotesque caricatures: for centuries, ceramics have been putting on a show from the shelves, and today they’re experiencing a real revival.

Abby preserves an important and extensive collection of historical ceramics. Much of it wasn’t made (only) to be used, but also and above all to be seen, displayed, and admired.

This exhibition brings together 90 pieces of historical ceramics and works by Athos Burez and Gustave de Jonghe from the Abby collection with contemporary ceramics by Ugis Albins, Nick Cave, William Cobbing, Ilke Cop, Eric Croes, Lou Cruard, Maen Florin, Bart Gielen, Daan Gielis, Béatrice Guilleman, Helena Hafemann, Jessica Harrison, Kato Herbots, Beate Höing, Eléonore Joulin, Mirthe Klück, Joke Raes, Augustas Serapinas, Wieki Somers, Roeland Tweelinckx, Sharon Van Overmeiren, Jonas Vansteenkiste, Goedel Vermandere and Anne Wenzel.

Working on New intervention of Fractum Domum
Currently in full preparation at the Rietveld Paviljoen, Amersfoort.
The first underlayer is being laid — next step: gluing and layering with grass.
This new palimpsest intervention continues the conceptual line of Fractum Domum, Palimpsest Intervention, where architecture, ornamentation, and natural elements merge into a layered dialogue of time, memory, and transformation.
Inspired by classical 19th-century floral motifs, this work activates public space by letting history seep through — like a palimpsest.
🗓 Opening: 7 November
📍 Location: Rietveld Paviljoen, Amersfoort
Participating artists:
Marianne Lammersen · Couzijn van Leeuwen · Ronald van der Meijs · André Pielage · Jonas Vansteenkiste.
Layer by layer, the transformation unfolds.

After a wonderful summer with the Follies expo at Hof ter Saksen, our work Sequence (@veerlemichiels & @jonasvansteenkiste ) has found a new home in the sculpture garden of Gallery Ysebaert in Sint-Martens-Latem.
Huge thanks to the amazing team in Beveren and to Annelies for moving and presenting our work with such care and love.

Number 28: We Already Have Enough offers a quiet space of resistance and contemplation in a world collapsing under the weight of endless production and consumption. @the_wronghouse

Through intimate paintings and an immersive textile installation, Gļeb(s) Maiboroda @gleb.maiboroda explores making and thinking as one intertwined act.
Drawing from icon-painting and weaving traditions, the works embody care and time, inviting us to slow down as a gesture toward another possible world. Rooted in queer ideas of radical care, Gļeb(s) approaches art not as production, but as presence, repair, and transformation.

Born in Riga, Latvia (1994), Gļeb(s) now lives and works in Amsterdam. This marks their first solo exhibition in Flanders, supported by the Mondriaan Fund.

📍 the wrong house — Graaf Gwijde van Namenstraat 7, 8500 Kortrijk Website: glebmaiboroda.com | Insta: @gleb.maiboroda

You can find all other exhibitions during Kortrijk Art Weekend on @kortrijkart www.kortrijkartweekend.be

✨ the wrong house is an artist-run initiative with a unique history in textiles. The building, once part of Kortrijk’s textile industry, has become an experimental space where art, heritage, and contemporary practices enter into dialogue. It literally and metaphorically weaves a thread between past and present.
