A corner you’ve passed a hundred times, rendered in paint and suddenly made permanent. Art that depicts recognizable places meets us in our own memory, we don’t just see the painting, we feel the temperature of the air, remember who we were with, sense the quiet of a place we love after hours. And sometimes it’s not even a place, it’s a feeling attached to one. The clarity of a ski run just before you push off. The stillness at the top of a trail. The best place-based painting doesn’t just capture where you were. It holds how it felt to be there. Six works on view now, come find yours. Details (in order of appearance): Artist: Aaron Memmott Title: “The Interval” Medium: Oil Size: 20” x 20” Artist: Warren Neary Title: “Evening on Main” Medium: Oil Size: 60” x 50” Artist: Jonathan Julien Title: “Crystalline Turning” Medium: Acrylic Painting Size: 60” x 40” Artist: Bridgette Meinhold Title: “Quiet, Still” Medium: Encaustic Size: 22” x 30” Artist: Warren Neary Title: “Cheers” Medium: Oil Size: 15” x 20” Artist: Aaron Memmott Title: “Still Blue” Medium: Oil Size: 24” x 24” #GalleryMAR #AaronMemmott #WarrenNeary #JonathanJulien #BridgetteMeinhold

Most artists add paint to a canvas, Jonathan Julien takes it away. Julien paints the snow first, seals it under a liquid rubber mask, completes the painting, then peels it away. Those crisp snowflake edges? Not a single brushstroke, they’re created from the paint bumping up against the edge of a material. A process he’s been perfecting since 2018. His goal is a specific feeling: “the cherry on top of an amazing day, light, atmosphere, coziness.” Come see those edges up close for yourself, “Crystalline Last Run” is now on view at Gallery MAR! Details: Title: “Crystalline Last Run” Medium: Acrylic Painting Size: 48” x 30” #GalleryMAR #JonathanJulien #JonathanFrioux #UtahArtist #ParkCityArt

As you may have gathered, the third issue of Terra Ignota was launched recently and it was a bit of a wild ride. From conceptual daydream to physical print this thing was a labor of love, taking close to a year to fine tune. I just wanted to thank all those who shared their stories and artistic expressions, each of these contributors really put their soul into it, it’s hard to explain in words but you can just feel the good post meridiem energy flipping through the pages. Keep print alive and make things that will last - even if it’s crafty or relationships you form. Also thanks for all those who came to the launch party and supported 🙏🏽 Acknowledgements for POST MERIDIEM Publisher: @pomelo.travel Pomelo Founder & co-editor: @chrismuhlestein Creative Director: @gmusashi Editor in Chief: @scott_russell___ Co-Editor: Emma Andrew Co-Editor: Carly Coombs @terraignotasociety Articles: @chrismuhlestein @steventausinga @mooselion @c1nd__y @jason_r_muhlestein @lena_jana @ciaracharcoal @ecomantan @levimay @georgiamunro1 @jordanpchiu Niwat Roykaew Emma Andrew Collin Andrew Gordon Smith Photos: @levimay @tay_steele @chrismuhlestein @chambrelame @girlnamedmaz @adolfmx @denzdacayanan @emmelinesmith @lena_jana @gmusashi Art: @torin.francis @jonathanfrioux @gmusashi Poetry: @scott_russell___ @professor_bonk Joan Peterson SPECIAL SHOUTOUT: THE MOON 🙏🏽

Some behind-the-scenes shots from the install of UMOCA’s 2025 Gala Art Auction Exhibition! This year’s show features an incredible range of work—all generously donated by artists working in Utah. Bidding opens tonight at 7 PM; join us for the opening reception from 7–9 PM. RSVP via 🔗 in bio. This year marks a record number of artist donations—an inspiring show of solidarity and belief in the role the arts play in our communities. At a time when cultural institutions face increasing challenges, this generosity underscores the vital work artists and arts organizations do to sustain critical cultural dialogue in places like Utah. Auction proceeds directly support exhibitions, education programs, and our Artist-in-Residence program.

Introducing Roux Arts, an online gallery and educational platform. Here’s a bit about two of our founders, Jena Schmidt and Jonathan Frioux. ‘We are a married couple who are both artists by profession. We’ve both been making art full-time for the last decade. There is so much amazing work around us, and we know the artists behind it. We want to open the doors so people can have a glimpse into their worlds and live with their incredible creations. Primarily we’ve decided to create Roux because we both grew up with mothers that were designers. Being around art and curation has been part of our lives since our youth. We know what their design practice looks like. And the hurdles that they faced with clients. A large part of being a designer is educating the client and walking them through their choices. Having said that, we wanted to give designers or anyone looking to enrich their homes with quality art, a resource of the education component within the online gallery.’
