My head is still in New Mexico and can you blame me? What an incredible week, exhibition opening and events for the Disturbance project with @paseoproject, @del_fuego_project , and @foreststewardsguild.

Much happiness getting to hang with Sandra, and the artists, scientists and community leaders participating in Disturbance - and one of the best openings I’ve been to (and that's saying something).

The show is up through January @hotel_willa and the events for it are non-stop for the next few months.

Check out the link for the KNCE Radio Taos for interviews on the Paseo website: https://paseoproject.org/disturbance2026

"Stewards” is an interactive installation of moveable fabric elements, with nearby included seating. The connected fabric elements abstract the complexity of the forest: its physical structure, cultural meaning, and economic reality. The composition of the wall installation evokes data or text on a page, in keeping with the aspect of abstraction. The colors included represent growth (green) and burn (beige), two fundamental forces in forest ecology.
The fabric used in the wall installation and bench covering is sourced from individual workwear uniforms, stitching together the women and men involved in land service over time and location. The piece creates an intersection between information and implementation and invites viewers to reflect on the hands-on work and near-constant decisions needed to care for a complex system that sustains us.

“In here, the third iteration is actually closest to my original vision for the piece. Which is this kind of pure, unbroken space that you’re in… In here, is the purest form of getting this at it’s true volume and it truly is overwhelming and really is encompassing you. This is the most intense it’s ever been, and I think it’s because of these unbroken lines that we have in this space.”

Come spend some time engaged in a miniature world and visit “Scaling a Pyramid” today, 12-5 pm

Don’t forget to RSVP on our website for the closing reception August 22nd 4-8 pm to hear Jonathan talk about his work and have the opportunity to win one of three selected prints from “Scaling a Pyramid”

Shift between the microscopic and the monumental, reconsider how you experience scale. Even the smallest forms can carry immense weight.
