POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve only recently returned to Instagram. A major driving force on returning was missing out on creator works and cool things happening in comics. 3T @toldtotell and the work of Matt Makman is a great example of that.

I’ll try not to be too gushy, but I have a ton of respect and admiration for Matthew Makman and his curation of 3T. I think I have almost all of 3T’s publications and they are consistently well produced. Always showcasing artists doing interesting and inspiring things in the medium. T2T 10 is an absolute banger.

I could write a ton, but this is a case where I feel like the work speaks louder. It’s a siren call to comics: you hit the shores of 3T and are awash in greatness.

I’ve tried to tag as many of the featured artists in these as I can find - but if you know one, please tag them. Late-stage social media is a weird, tough place. We all need a bit more love and community in our lives. And we all should do what we can to support people making cool things.

Check out 3T. Beyond his own publications, he is always showcasing incredible comics on his page.

Wolverine Sketch by Jonathan Marks Barravecchia (2024)

I’ve been a big fan of JMB’s art style since I discovered it in Light Wood issue 1 from Zuperhero Comics. I highly recommend anything and everything he’s worked on.

TODAY'S FEATURED COMIC ART
CUL DE SAC 1 VARIANT COVER
ARTISTS: JONATHAN MARKS BARRAVECCHIA @jonathanmarksart
CAF GALLERY: JAMES HENDERSON

Get ready to meet Jonathan Marks Barravecchia this month at @IndieComicsCreatorCon [IC3@PVD]! "I would describe my drawing style as painterly, loose, hopefully emotional and expressive. I draw directly with ink so the line remains spontaneous and lively (a technique from George Pratt, who described it as an 'honest' line), and work with watercolor often, so there is an interesting push and pull of control."

He also says he loves indie comics because "The creative freedom is everything. Tell the stories you want, in the style you want, design the book how you want, make it the size, the length, the whatever you want. That's what indie comics are all about."

Find Anderson at table F2-42 during IC3@PVD on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from noon till 8pm at Teamworks Warwick. He also has some original artwork available for sale on his website if you are interested.

Click the link in our bio to subscribe to the CAF newsletter for more daily featured art!
