POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The tour we humbly consider the best ticket on earth this year—Shearwater + Loma w/Any Kind—is now under way. it’s a joy to be playing together again.

We’ve been rehearsing for the past few days in the UK, and after a warm-up show in Cornwall next week, we’ll head to the EU, Switzerland, and back to the UK for an epic run of 18 shows. You can expect highlights from every Shearwater album since Palo Santo, and songs from every Loma album, well, ever.

Some shows are already sold out—and there are only 6 tickets left for Berlin!—but there are still tickets available for most dates (Geneva, Zurich, and Odense, we’re looking at you.)

You can find tickets at the link in our bios. We hope to see you out there. JM

Pinky (@crossrecord) has been taking photos for her tour diary (an incentive that we offered to funders of our tour). Here, we’ll be posting some of the pics that didn’t quite make it.

You can see more bts from our rehearsals and tour by following @shearwaterband and any of our touring party - some are more active on socials than others.

Free (practice) show! This Friday at Radio South @radiocoffeeandbeer in Austin at 8PM. Any Kind (@dandysounds) will be opening, and we’ll be trying out a bunch of songs we may or may not be playing on our upcoming European tour. We promise to know some songs by then. We hope. (EL)

For Bandcamp Friday, we’re releasing a new song, “Light Governance” from New World Vultures, the companion LP to The New World—which we’ll release exclusively on Bandcamp next year.)

NWV has its own identity; it’s bit looser and lighter, though since it’s us, it also shimmers with contradictions. Many of its songs were recorded very late at night, and seemed to blow in on the wind. Like this one.

Link is in our bio and at shearwater.bandcamp.com

Lastly, a gentle reminder: we’ll be on tour in northern Europe and the UK with @lomatheband from October 31 to November 22nd, and we’d love to see you there.

You can find all the tour dates in our bio and at www.shearwatermusic.com.

XO,

JM / SW

In this episode: How Jonathan joined a scientific expedition to Antarctica and how the fathomless abyss became a psychedelic bikini bottom - it was also like going to the moon. This conversation makes a few side quests to Chile and Tasmanian trees older than the Roman empire. Also, how to tell your friend you don’t like their band. Plus, Jonathan assigns homework -now go Google magnetostrategraphy.

Five Questions with Shearwater’s Jonathan Meiburg (Polyborus). “The living world that made us is a very beautiful and mysterious place, and there’s a lot to learn about and from it. Don’t let the internet fool you.” Check it out:
